Re: How the Church Screws Up Marriages Before They Even Happen

I agree with some of this and I disagree with some of this. Overall I agree, but mostly because I'm a disaffected guy who's been married for a few decades and can see how the chicken farmers and coop owners are bound to the food companies that provide really low interest rate loans, exceptionally hi...

Marriage counseling?

Has anyone been through marriage counseling with a therapist to work through mixed faith marriage issues? I have a few questions: How did you discuss your disaffection with spouse and therapist? Did you explain the issues that caused you to lose faith? Or only focus on how losing your faith made you...

Re: DW Digging In Somewhat

This post has helped me think of a few things. Better communication starts with talking. Talking is always a delicate balance since emotions can derail a conversation. Writing out our thoughts are a good idea but can be easily taken out of context due to the lack of emotion and non verbal cues. Disc...

Re: HIPS Family Update

I love updates! You've been missed HIPS. Did your wife ever "blame" you or suspect you of subversively derailing your kids testimony? My wife is going to be crushed and blame me if/when the kids don't get married in the temple. It's her validation as a mother that she raised them right if they serve...

Re: What makes NOM special.

Completely agree with that. I tried reddit, and it just wasn’t the same. BTW, here’s an upvote for you! :) NOM is like a campfire with friends. Reddit is like a drive-by shooting. A drive by shooting with friends, right? The leaked videos were awesome! What makes NOM special for me is the new frien...

Re: Validation emails

Mine got caught in my spam filter, but I found it. Just a heads up for anyone who's waiting for theirs. My mother has cans and cans of spam in her food storage. As kids, we took the "keys" off the cans because they made great lock picking tools for the bedroom doors. To this day we still give my mo...

Moderators, hosting, and other admin

Moderators: We felt it was necessary to get the board up and going before all the puzzle pieces were in place. As such, we are still working on getting a moderator team in place. Over the years there have been many wonderful people who volunteered their personal time, energy, and emotional capital t...

Validation emails

I'm getting feedback that some people are not getting a validation email when they register.

We are watching the queue and manually pushing new people through while we look into why. We are also looking at options to sign up without an email.

Thanks for your patience.

Re: Fall 2016 Conference

Oliver posted his write ups on the NOMforum reddit page. Conference weekend was a non event for me. I pretty much ignored most of it only searching out the themes on reddit. I learned quickly that I didn't have to actually listen. I just had to know who spoke. This way when parents, in laws, etc ask...

Welcome NOM refugees to NOM 2.0

Welcome back! It's been a few crazy weeks after the old board went down without any explanation. I know many of us are disappointed but the reality is we aren't owed anything from Thayne. He spent his own time and money to keep it going as long as he did and for this I say on behalf of all of us, TH...
