Re: Life is hard

As a TBM, I always visualized life as a hard thing that you need to "make it through". Maybe it was all the talk of enduring to the end? I would like to find a way now for life to be GOOD instead of something to just make it through. Maybe I'm starting to get there. For all I know, once you've made...

Re: If you were prophet for a day...

If I were a prophet for a day I'd gather the entire Q15 and say "We all know this church is bogus... lets come clean and no one leaves the room until we figure this all out starting with no more exclusions of anyone!" It's a nice thought to think how a fresh new face at the top could change the chur...

Re: Meilingkie's Return and report

Thank you for dropping by one more time to share the good news. I feel the peace in your words and and happy for you and your family. The porch light will always be on here and I hope from time to time you'll return and report. Where will you go? The sky is the limit! You are so much more without th...

Re: Shooters and Clubbers

Thanks for the update. It really is sickening. I read that book, several blogs, and all the podcasts. I get how complicated the emotions of the time were, but still how can any people of faith be involved in such horror?!! I look forward to any additional commentary you can provide. I have read qui...

Re: Shooters and Clubbers UPDATE

UPDATE: I thought I'd let you know what I've been up to in the last several weeks since I last commented on the Mountain Meadows Massacre. I just couldn't let this one lie because I had to many questions. I'm just about finished reading, "Blood of the Prophets, Brigham Young and the Massacre at Moun...

I'm excited for him! It was good to hear he is still "here" but not really HERE. I think we all need to go over to that other side and invite him back. He is missed!

Re: What are we doing here?

As I sort of settle into old habits of discussing the pros and cons of stuff, I wondered "what am I doing here?" I love questions that offer different answers depending on when you ask them. But, I realize that I still feel rejected by my family. That no matter how social we try to be, I will never...

Re: top 5 smoking guns

I tried to condense it into just 5 but couldn't. Take all what you posters have listed and that is my list and some.... my current smoking gun is the Mountain Meadows Massacre. I just read a book on it. I would say had I read about this years ago it would have been an instant shelf breaker.

UPDATE Re: Anyone in Pueblo, CO? Help is neded.

I just wanted to give an update on this young man and to give a huge thanks to all those who expressed their concerns. Help is coming to him thanks to the Tapir Network who have volunteers in his area. They are the best!

Re: So Today Is the Anniversary of my Baptism

Mad Jax, I appreciate your comments. My baptism day is not a date I ever think about so when you brought up yours it gave me a chance to reflect back to that summer day. I don't remember the exact date nor much about that day. All I have to mark that day is my baptism certificate and a faded black a...

Anyone in Pueblo, CO? Help is neded.

Has had some severe eye problems due to welding accident. (glaucoma/cataracts). He is having surgeries to help so he can see. He has been unable to work due ...

Re: Have you ever cause a FC for someone else?

Yes I did cause a FC for someone. My 78 year old TBM cousin emailed me one day and asked me why I don't go to church. This lead to her reading the Essays, Mormonthink, the CES letter and anything else I could throw her way. I rocked her world of course and felt bad at first. I no longer feel that wa...

Re: Astute religious observation by Kirby

From Robert Kirby in the Salt Lake Tribune: There’s nothing the deeply religious love more than taking something to a blithering extreme. "Blithering extreme"! Great description. I'm adding this to my awesome phrases and word list along with this weeks reintroduction to "dotard"!! I love Kirby! I d...

Well I think she's made her decision. She's zeroed in on one city in particular and is making her plans. This may take her a bit as she needs to get all her ducks in a row. Her decision surprised us. She was not looking there. Just shows you need to keep all options open. Thanks for all your suggest...

Re: Lessons Learned

Excellent post Good Boy! I resigned a couple years ago and have wondered myself if I really belong here. But I keep coming back because it is here where it all began and it is here I feel at home. The biggest thing I learned by leaving was to use my mind. No longer was I under the control of a churc...

I had no idea that Tuscon was that big of a city! You are right, lots to do, cheaper housing, beautiful area, but whats going on with the crime rate? Is this just in a few areas of all over the city in general. I am getting my info from this website:
