Re: Postmodernism anybody?

With liberalism, beliefs are contradictory & or full of double standards. Ie: Contrary to overwhelming evidence that homosexuality is more nurture than nature, liberals try to preach that homosexuals are born with homosexual preferences and cannot change. Yet, they claim that pedophiles are not bor...

Re: Education week report

God could have an opinion on social issues. (If he existed.) Those who claim to speak for him are allowed to have an opinion on social issues. These baseless opinions should bear no weight on the governance of a civil society, its laws, or its courts of law. If god wishes to appear himself as an ex...

Re: Called to Teach Gospel Doctrine

I've been too busy to find time to meet wit the bishopric in person, so the first counselor texted me this morning to ask if I would accept the calling. I sent a text back saying that after much thought and prayer, I was sorry to say that I would not be able to accept the calling. Got to love text ...

Her grounds- she says she married my friend because she thought that he was a good Mormon and lived his religion- but after 25 years, she has decided he just does not measure up to her standards and she does not love him any more. I can't recall any time the church has been associated with giving away anything other than guilt, shame, and old white shirts.

Re: Every ward has that perfect family ....

I spent a lifetime it seem worrying that I would never be perfect enough to be rewarded on high and saw myself as less in comparison to other families who seemed to be more perfect. Then the shelf fell and I realized how abusive that ideas was. I guess some days I just get angered at myself for fal...

Re: Mom's Memorial Service

Thank you, achilles, for a beautifully written description of your Mom's memorial service. You perfectly conveyed the atmosphere of warmth and kindness that surrounded your Mom and her memory. I agree with you - had the service been at church, it wouldn't have been nearly as nice. How wonderful of y...

It's also important to remind them that a current temple recommend is not necessary for salvation and that the members without a recommend far outnumber the members with a recommend. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________...
