Re: New Apologetic Movie: Witnesses

This entire production is a vanity project for Daniel Peterson; he's spent a good chunk of the last couple of years trying to raise funds for the production of this movie. All of this, for what purpose? Showing these stories in a movie form will surely leave out details from all the written accounts...

Re: The Lords Battalion

It's 7:00 am Sunday morning when my phone rings waking me from my slumber. It's the Bishop. He needs me to come down to the ward house for another intervention. I jump in the shower, find a pair of clean garments on the couch wondering why the wife didn't get the laundry put away yet. I find my sui...

Hundreds gathered in Moroni, Utah to burn a giant syringe as part of their anti-vaccination beliefs. https://video-images.vice.com/articles/6092fc1d344058009b8761fe/lede/1620250800285-untitled-design-5.png?crop=1xw:0.8427xh;0xw,0.0475xh&resize=500:* https://www.vice.com/en/article/xgxxan/a-bunch-of...

Re: Forced Turning Point

So how’s the new bishop’s office? Do you at least get a new chair? Stock up on fabreeze because if it’s like any I’ve been in, the priest quorum funky smell never leaves. Not as bad as the mother’s lounge or kitchen, but clearly a bishops office is on the “top 5 most smelly rooms in a Mormon chapel...

Re: I may have just seen a heavenly visitor??

Aunt and uncle are in town visiting. Just crossed paths with Uncle walking down the dark hallway in his garments trying to find the bathroom. I can’t unsee it.... What advice can you give me to clear my mental anguish? Sing a hymn? Say a prayer? Read the scriptures? Why me? Holy crap, RR! Ano...

Re: Who’s next on the excommunication list?

I think Consigliere is on the list, however he is extremely factual and precise. Consigliere doesn’t speculate, so it is harder to prosecute facts. I’m thinking there are some CES/BYU employees we may not know about who could surface soon. Also,Quaku El I speculate there is a 70 brewing excommunica...

Re: Who’s next on the excommunication list?

I thought I once read years ago on the recovery from Mormonism board a story about Avraham Gileadi and how he promoted in home Bible lessons that would turn into “spiritual bonding” sessions. This was where they would embrace in long drawn out hugs in order to entangle spirits and become closer to ...

Re: Why go to a "Membership Council?"

And you know what this tells us? The Church recognizes Church courts are a problem, but can't bring themselves to let go of one of their favorite control mechanisms. So they do a little rebranding and hope it will fool people. Does it tell us that the church actually recognizes the courts are a pro...

Now that Natasha Helfer has been excommunicated, the (local  ) leaders of the church will move on and continue down their list. Who is left on the list? Jana Riess Radio Free Mormon W. T. Fluffy I’m not sure who is even left in the cesspool of Mormon podcasters and provocative agitators of cha...

Ooooooooooooh Yeah!!! Pick Me! Pick Me! Pick Me! I of course I have Fluffy fantasies about showing up to my "Membership Council" in board-shorts and flip-flops, with pizza and cheap beer. I'm envisioning a scene from Fast Times at Ridgemont High : [Spicoli has had a pizza delivered to class] Mr. Ha...

Re: Did Netasha Helfer-Parker get Exed?

This thing turned into a circus in a big hurry. I understand that she is at a terrible low in her life, but using a public forum (Facebook) to vent and process everything going on hasn't really helped her, in my opinion. Trying to follow some of her posts today was...interesting. The church did abso...

Re: What are you doing to protect your family against the virus?

Do you suddenly feel the urge to build a multi-million dollar luxury cavern in the hillside of Bainbridge Island or turn over in your sleep and say, "Melinda, I dreamt I was turning into Jfro 18 once again?" I woke up in the middle of the night and switched my default browser to Microsoft Edge and ...

Re: Forced Turning Point

I have no intention of resuming tithing payments. I may rethink fast offerings once I get a better handle on where that money is used and how much need is in the ward. If HQ catches wind and wants to release me, I'm A-OK with that. As with the rest of your NOM ward, I also sustain you as bishop. Yo...

Re: What are you doing to protect your family against the virus?

I had COVID back in August, but my symptoms were fairly mild at the time; just down for a couple of days. I had my first dose of the vaccine (Moderna) last week and the only thing I had was a sore arm. No other symptoms. We'll see how dose 2 goes later this month.

Re: Doubters are lazy learners!!!!!

Indeed...I was such a lazy learner that I read everything I could get my hands on, studied it, prayed, went to the Temple, and discussed it with both believers and non-believers alike until I "lazy learned" myself all the way out of the church. Just one more disparaging phrase for the "faithful" to ...
