Re: Who should be able to enter the temple?

If I was in charge of the church I would get rid of temples altogether. We could do weddings in our ordinary meetinghouses. Other Christian denominations don't have secret buildings. The temples and the ordinances inside are kinda culty. I think the church should stop building new temples, and I don...

Re: My short intro

This "monomo" is not to be confused with a previous "monomo" who posted on the old NOM board. The previous "monomo" is my real-life brother, and he's a great guy.

Re: Sunday Logistics

It feels a lot shorter. I've been teaching a Primary class for the past 5 years, so I don't ever go to Elder's Quorum or Sunday School. I'm not really sure how that stuff works, but I don't need to know. I hope I stay in Primary forever. I like it there. I never prepared much for my Primary lessons,...

Re: Oh the times they are a changin'

I wish Sinema would have sworn in on the Bible. I'm a Christian conservative Republican, in that order, just like Mike Pence. I'm also a Bob Dylan fan, so I clicked on the the title of this thread. :) Swearing in on the Bible is tradition in this country, a good tradition, and I think it's important...

And it's of course not revelation, but it's certainly being taken as much. My SIL has a son going on a mission this year and her reaction was "the Lord did this just for me."
Every little change is seen as a "revelation" by TBMs.

Hello Again

Hi everyone. I participated a little on the old NOM board a couple of years ago as "Telemoonka." My brother in real life posted as "Monomo." Um... I have a blog called "Reasons to Stay LDS (even though you don't believe in the Church anymore)" There are donate buttons on that thing but don't donate....

Re: Missionaries can call home weekly now

I was in the break room at work the other day (almost everyone there is LDS) when one of the boss guys came in and said, "They're lowering the bar. They're coddling the missionaries. There's too many sissies these days." That's not an exact quote, even though I'm using quotation marks. I think that'...

Re: Unexpected and Unsolicited Spiritual Experience

No, I haven't had anything like that happen since my faith crisis. I think I've felt the Spirit since my faith crisis, but not as powerfully as you did. But I'm glad it happened to you, and I'm open to the possibility that it could happen to me. Thanks for sharing.
