But what can we really expect? I mean during a global pandemic the best they could come up with was this cheap catch phrase "Think Celestial"
C'mon now. We also got a historic proclamation... about something or other.

Re: The Mormon church is looking to crack down on... garments?!

I think there's the actual temple recommend question but the interviewer is instructed to read that spiel in addition to the question.

Re: The Mormon church is looking to crack down on... garments?!

Here's the current temple recommend spiel: The temple garment is a reminder of covenants made in the temple and, when worn properly throughout life, will serve as a protection against temptation and evil. The garment should be worn beneath the outer clothing. It should not be removed for activities ...

How bout I just draw some Magick MORmON Masonic Polygamy symbols on myself every once in a while with a Sharpie™? LD$-Inc. could even start selling Consecrated Sharpie's.
Just make sure the cap of the sharpie is off when you consecrate it.

Re: The Mormon church is looking to crack down on... garments?!

The people that are more casual about garment wearing (their target audience) is already beyond the reach of such messages. I suppose this is the predictable phase one, orthodox leaders pounding the rules. If that effort fails, maybe we'll see a phase two where they soften the policies to make it lo...

I'll do my usual prediction that's a play on a quote from Groundhog Day. I'll give you a conference prediction: It's gonna be derivative, it's gonna be boring, and it's gonna last you for the rest of your life. The only thing anyone can currently guess is that women are going to be eternally pregnan...

Perhaps, but it would appear many of us have graduated past knowing which weekend conference falls on. ;)

Re: Declining callings and talks is getting easier for me

I flux in and out of it being easy to decline invitations. I was good for a while but let my guard down, so I currently hold a calling. :) It can be tough. Some leaders like to pull out all the stops. It's like the opposite of that episode of The Office where Ryan uses up all the excuses. I can't. I...

Re: 9 stories from those who returned to the faith

We might start with a simple belief as a child, but at some point that childlike faith faces questions and concerns. While our untested faith may have served well as a spiritual foundation, we must now move from simple faith through complexity to mature faith that is able to withstand future challe...

Re: The church and Equal Rights for women

Can someone please remind me of the church’s stance on ERA from the 1970s and if the stance has changed since then? I haven't researched it and my credit card was declined at the holiday inn but from what I remember the opposition was something along the lines of: 1) Women are already equals, they ...

They've probably already submitted some names for K&M to thoroughly vet.

If there's a conflict between who the prophet wants and who passes the background checks, who wins? Who calls an apostle in the modern church, the sitting prophet or the lawyers?

Re: My donation history

I am wondering why it only goes back to 2013. Do they artificially cap visibility to your donations at 10 years, or is it something else? I've checked my donation history from time to time over the years. My experience is that there's a 10 year cap on how far back you can go. Next year you'll only ...

Re: Ayaan Hirsi Ali Joins Christianity

Yet I would not be truthful if I attributed my embrace of Christianity solely to the realisation that atheism is too weak and divisive a doctrine to fortify us against our menacing foes. People worried about "menacing foes" probably do need religion... or are unable to completely divorce themselves...

The adults lost their minds over it though. It frustrates me how these grown women and men draw so much meaning from kids doing what they were trained to do. The kids say the words that were written for them by these same adults. And somehow that makes the church true *sob* and in good hands *sob* ...

The following could be realities that would still make that statement technically ...
