Enough to say Yes without feeling guilty about saying Yes.

Re: Breaking Cover

Great post. Love the metaphorical reference of the tall grass and the image it portrays.

Re: A different Q15 --------- Question #8

#8 Do you strive to keep the covenants you have made, to attend your sacrament and other meetings, and to keep your life in harmony with the laws and commandments of the gospel? I do not feel beholden to promises made to someone I no longer believe exists. I could be cheeky and talk about the Churc...

Re: A different Q15 --------- Question #7 (NOM)

No. But my definition of this is different than most. I view this as associating with people who are either; members who are actively / purposefully acting against the teachings of the Church (Snufferites), or non-members / ex-members who are actively trying to convert members away from the Church (...

Re: A different Q15 --------- Question #6 (Conduct)

No. I've always tried to treat my family with the same kind of love and respect that I hope they would show me. Though after my change in belief, probably not in a strict churchy, obedient way.

Re: A different Q15 --------- Question #5 (Chastity--is it getting hot in here?)

Yes. Only me and Mrs RJ in our relationship, as far as I know. Flying solo is none of the church's business - at any age, and the church stays outside of the bedroom door. My biggest problem with this question is that the church still equates sex with worthiness and by default induces shame - I hav...

Re: A different Q15 ---------- Question #4 (which actually includes three questions)

No to all 3.

I don't believe in the Priesthood, so I can not sustain them and I do not believe that they have the keys to exercise authority of anyone. The only authority they have is the authority that others are willing to give to them, which for me is none.

Re: A different Q15 ---------- Question #3 (Restoration)

I would have to believe that it existed in the first place in order to believe it was restored. So no.

Re: A different Q15 ----------Question #2

The atonement on our behalf is a wonderful concept, but no, I don't have a testimony of that.

Re: A different Q15----------

God? ... No. Holy Ghost? ... No. Jesus Christ? ... Yes (sort of). I actually believe that he was a real man who had an amazing ministry of love and acceptance while on this Earth. But I don't believe that he walked on water; raised the dead; restored sight to the blind; cured leprosy; or any of the ...

Re: So Happy the Board is BACK!

Thanks for the warm welcomes.

I'm excited to reconnect with those that I knew from before, and to connect with those that I have yet to meet.
And I'm always excited to hear the stories and experiences from you all!

Re: So Happy the Board is BACK!

So update... I started my faith transition back in late 2008. Once I started my own research, I knew within a week that I no longer believed. But I did my due diligence in my research and took the next 6 months to study everything very carefully. Once that was done I knew my belief system had done a...

So Happy the Board is BACK!

I was a member/poster on the previous board since late 2008. I lurked a lot (posted occasionally) and was sad when the board went away. So happy to see that it has been restored and some of the old posters are back! Heading off to a meeting now, but I'll share more of how my story has evolved later.
