Re: Any good resources on Deutero Isaiah?
Deutero-Isaiah was the nail in the coffin for the BoM for me. Unless if can be shown that Isaiah is the ACTUAL author of the portions of the Bible in question, there is just no good way around this for the BoM. None.

Re: Aunt Wendy epiphany
Remember Red Ryder's conspiracy theory about Aunt Wendy and Sherri Dew being in a relationship and Wendy married Rusty so she could implant "revelations" in his sleep about women getting the priesthood and then eventually Wendy and Sherri take over the church? I'm really hoping that's true. Because...

Re: John Hajicek vs. The Deseret News
That was fascinating. Is he Community of Christ? I loved that he called it “minority Latter Day Saint”. He claims to be an independent mormon unaffiliated with any sect. But he was ordained by a Strangite priesthood holder as a young man, and grew up in Voree Wisconsin in a house on "Mormon road". ...

Re: John Hajicek vs. The Deseret News
Now that he's posted that list on the Internet, he'd damn well better provide support for each of those listed allegations against Wilks. In reviewing his website, it appears this has been a very long fight between he and the Deseret News. Some of this comes off as retaliatory and sour grapes, but i...

Re: If you think the Church has been fully restored...
“If you think the Church has been fully restored, you're just seeing the beginning. There is much more to come. … Wait till next year. And then the next year. Eat your vitamin pills . Get your rest. It's going to be exciting.” I wonder if an earlier version of this talk accidentally said, "Be sure ...

Re: What would you expect if the church was true?
I'd expect to be living in the same fashion as the original Frontier Sex Cult set up by Joseph Smith in 1830. This pansy organization today has veered so far away from the original doctrines God revealed to His Prophet, even Joseph Smith, that a decent God fearing man of today has to wonder "what w...

Re: A new name
My new name was that of a certain fellow who, when told to preach to a group of people he did not like, instead ended up going for a ride inside a large swimming mammal. At the time, I was a little bothered about having picked up the name of such a recalcitrant and prejudiced preacher of God's word....

No More Pageants
So, apparently, another important "revelation" has been received by the Prophet - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is growing across the earth. As this occurs, local Church leaders and members are encouraged to focus on gospel learning in their homes and to participate in Sabbath wors...

Re: McKenna Bears Testimony in Bishop's Ward
Given how much publicity there had already been before her disruption of Bishop's ward, I highly doubt his stake president didn't already know about the allegations. The "member" of the stake presidency who visited with McKenna after her "testimony" admitted that he did not know who she was, or abo...

Re: McKenna Bears Testimony in Bishop's Ward
Did she accomplish any thing with this “stunt”? Well, if his stake president is now aware that the man is a sexual predator, then yes. Because the church certainly did not tell the stake president. So, yes, she accomplished something if an authority over creep now knows he is a creep. Given how muc...

Re: McKenna Bears Testimony in Bishop's Ward
Not a fan of this stunt either. Not sure what it accomplished. I support McKenna 100% in her battle with the church and she deserves justice for what she had gone through but this does nothing for her cause. I really didn't like the mocking tone of the first part of this video. To me it just makes ...

Re: Another Sexual Predator Mission President...
This guy's dad was my SP when I was a teen. I knew his younger kids, but this guy was already off doing mission/school/whatever. The dad was as hard-ass and hard-nose as they come. We had a stake youth committee with monthly meetings, all-day long stake youth events with more rules than you can ima...

Realizing I was second place to the Church for my wife's love, and that I always would be, was a huge factor in the decision to leave my marriage.AdmiralHoldo wrote: ↑Sat Mar 31, 2018 7:16 amI'm definitely headed that direction. Re: What is that you want that the church isn't providing?
The truth. This. Full stop. I like the idea of the church providing the truth, but they don't have it. Nobody really does. I would take the church being honest, and being a group of people honestly seeking the truth, wherever it may lead. I guess that's kind of my point. They don't have the truth, ...

Re: New church statement on 2nd victim
Isn't this 2nd victim the same women mentioned in the mormon leaks audio? The church already knows there are plenty of pedophiles among it's rank and file priesthood. They've paid out many out of court settlements and made very minor changes to their policies to prevent this from happening again. A...

Re: Took a big step today - out with everybody
Very well written. I wish I could just copy it, sign my name as if it were my own, and send to everyone I know. I've been slowly creeping out into the open with my disaffection, but it has been very slow.
