Re: Are Mission Presidents feeling the heat?
A recently returned sister missionary from Canada spoke in our ward a few weeks ago and said she had no baptisms and only worked with inactives. I was amazed that Canada would be so difficult for proselytizing. I would venture to say Canada is becoming more and more secular. (thank goddess) What wi...

Re: Hi, I'm new from the U.K
Welcome to NOM. Contrary to your typical Sunday school classroom in your regular ward, all topics are acceptable and safe to discuss as long as civilly discussed. :D Most of us are jealous of your situation with your spouse. Many of us stay because our better half holds firmly to the "iron fisted ro...

Farewells don’t have to be forever.
I hope you will find joy in your future. I’m confident you are already well on your way.
Thanks for sharing your perspective along the way. Interesting informative and always fun.
Would love to buy you a drink next time we visit the Netherlands.
Best to you.

So sorry to hear about your tough situation.
It’s times like this that I miss being able to say you’ll be in my prayers. However I can and do send you sympathy and supportive waves of the love which links us all together as human beings.
Wishing you peace.

Even small victories are worth celebrating with fireworks.
And a big shout out to all my American friends celebrating today.
May the beer be cold, the fireworks safe, and enjoy the company of those dear.

TODAY IS THE DAY EH.
Just a quick shout out to all the Canadian NOM's out there to wish you a Happy Canada Day. DW is off to church while I put on my red and white colours to attend a little parade which will go through our little "park town". I imagine that many won't be there to support it since it's time is the same ...

Re: Now what?
HI Mooseman, It is a rare bishop that can actually take off his "judge in Israel" hat and have a real conversation when it is in the Bishop's office. Rare doesn't mean impossible though. Perhaps the most important thing in this decision IMO is where you are at in regards to the church and how much i...

Re: Essay: The Beam in the Church's Eye
Some good ideas here but the points you make will work against this argument being seriously considered by TBMs. But I completely agree, the way members absorb the identity of their church role is blocking their ability to reason their way out. A question. How do the top leaders create an identity ...

Angelic bodies distracting my thoughts.
Two topics came to my mind the other day. First: as a TBM I understood angel Moroni who visited the 17 year old JS was already a resurrected being. Body of flesh and bone presumably, since he took back the gold plates and other relics originally taken from the stone box in the hill. Do we have any e...

I suppose, if good hearted Henry was still legally married to Zina all that time, then Brigham was also into polyandry.
Anyone know if Henry divorced her?

Re: Just A Big Hello!
Hello back at you. Thanks for your post. Resignation has been in my thoughts for the past while, and although it would be a step of closure for me personally, it would hurt my DW so for now I keep up a certain amount of Mormonism life. I am interested in the idea of a resigned member such as yoursel...

Re: My wife opened her mouth and started a family beatdown
Sucks. It's worse when something awful happens to someone you're really close to like a spouse or a child. You just want to suffer it instead of them, but you can't. If there's a bright spot right now, Malcom, it's that she has you. Somehow, you sitting there and hurting with her will take some of ...

After July this year y’all can head up I-15 to the great white north to get legal MJ.

I empathize with your pain.
That being said, it could be a lot worse.
You could still be in that same bubble.
Even with the frustration of seeing loved ones flailing in life, I wouldn’t want to go back to the box. Would you?

Re: My first experiences with coffee
Sounds like my first experience with the black evil herbal tea. 😂 I remember thinking “no matter where this rabbit hole takes me, I won’t drink that vile stuff”. Forward four years and now good coffee black or with a bit of cream tastes better then my memory of great hot chocolate. Maturing tastebuds

Re: I'm Tired
I spoke with DW. I tried to be vulnerable. I just told her the things that have been hard. Basically the list I posted in the first post, sans alcohol because that triggers her. It went okay, but nothing will change. She is fully TBM. I am fully out. We both know it. She told me she isn't forcing m...
