Hello from six feet under

Post by Meilingkie » Wed Oct 19, 2016 12:31 pm

From six feet under sealevel I say hello.

Here a quick summary
Born and bred Roman Catholic.
Went searching for the truth at age 19.
Found missionaries tracting on the street, had the first discussion while walking them to the train.
Baptised 22 days later. March 9th 1997.
Married in Temple 1998.
DS born 1999, DD 2000

Cracks started developing because of all manner of strange decisions in church locally soon after I became a member.
Learned about offshoots like TLC Manti 2000. Thought WTF?! Was member of the bishopric then.
All shelved.
Became HC-member 2006, lots happened and I looked behind the curtain too much.
Bishopric 2008-2011.
Became SS-President, and started digging because I wanted to give better and factual lessons.
Then the dam broke, Mormonstories and all happened.
Joined NOM, marriagecrisis, etc. etc. ensued.

Found out that in the end my DW was a NOM, but leaving was out of the question.
Best friend was released as SP-counselor in 2015, I kept him on board though his faithtransition.
Now we sail in NOM-ness together and we marvel at everything that happens in Mormondom in general, and locally here in particular.
We are sitting on the last pew in the back, pass each other popcorn by the bucketload, laugh a lot, and scatch our heads a lot as well.

Being a NOM is bloody hilarious at best, and annoying at worst.
But above all, it´s worth it.

Is this a commonly referenced bit of humor in The Netherlands? Denver, Colorado is a mile above sea level and altitude jokes do feature prominently there.

Nope my pirate-friend, it´s just my bad sense of humor.

When we have missionaries over I usually go to the old town and show them the floodstones, them guys tend to swallow a bit.
Suddenly they realize it´s a deathtrap here. We live here with nature´s consent, revokable at any notice.

Here a pic of the monument at Holland´s lowest point at -22ft 1.5 inch
You would probably reach the 5,00 mark. I would (barely) at 5ft 10.
