I just read this book and it made me curious if any of you have read it or might be interested in reading it. There were some interesting/relevant themes, the writer is not LDS.

-Husband has been looking at porn since age 10 or so to avoid dealing with emotional issues
(reading her account might help some understand how porn could be so offensive to some TBM women, but I personally try not to demonize porn and understand this may be a touchy subject for some)
-Both spouses go through therapy
-Major marital issues/separation
-Sort of a crisis of faith for the author, but the author retains a level of faith
-General women's issues are addressed often; patriarchy/pressure put on women/what it's like to be a woman in a world designed by/for created by men
-Divine Feminine, being told God is a man.
-Her experiences of being a SAHM for a time
-Husband seeks love through physical affection, wife seeks love through language/mental/emotional connection. They don't see each other's needs or know how to meet each other's needs and this creates a lot of problems.

Non relevant topics include the author's personal emotional issues, addiction, and bulimia in her early life, adultery. Although those themes may be relevant for some of you.

I enjoyed this memoir. There were a few parts I didn't love or agree with, but it's hard to be too critical of a memoir especially one so raw and real. It was definitely written for women, by a woman. I'd recommend it to any woman. However for the men, if you can see your wife in some of these issues I listed, reading it might help you get some insight into her world. You could also ask her to read parts and say is this how you feel? Can you relate to this? Anyway just thought I'd put it out there! :)

Sounds very interesting. Those are definitely some LDS issues, and common to the wold at large as well.
