What mission did you serve in

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

Boston, MA - for three months waiting for my visa (Dale Murphy was my pres for a couple of months, nicest guy ever) (97)

Chihuahua, Mexico (97-99)
One of the converts I taught joined the church because he was a big time Dale Murphy fan. We tracted into the guy and he slammed the door in our faces, but then realized we were the Dale Murphy Mormons and not the JWs. He came running down the road after us to come back. Made the best homecoming talk story.

Sendai Japan 🇯🇵 for my contribution.
Go Japan! Is that a flag or an umeboshi on rice?

I mentioned it earlier, but I was in the Hiroshima Mission 2001-2003. We were mission neighbors Achilles! (They split the Kobe mission between Hiroshima and Nagoya right before I got there)
Umeboshi...... natsukashii ne....... although it's one of the things I never really liked. :)
I was thre in a much older jidai then all of you all. 78-80

I'm afraid that you will need to be far more specific on which is the "normal" looking guy in this picture. This picture is a hive of weird things going on just below the surface based on outfits, facial expressions, and the giant in the background.

My home stake is Leeds..... wonder if I ever met you or if you came to our house for dinner and I subjected you to my awful cooking...... sorry 'bout that! My TBM husband invites the poor, unsuspecting missionaries for dinner all the time and I really cannot cook!

That's awesome! I'm going to be in York and London next week!

As a missionary, I ate whatever (unless it was blood pudding or haggis), and just appreciated people would feed us. I'm sure your cooking was better than me cooking something in our flat.

I really miss yorkshire pudding with potatoes and gravy.

Yorkshire puddings are easy! Get the oven really hot, pop a metal oven tray, muffin tin, fairy cake tin - whatever you have into the oven with enough oil (veg oil or sunflower not olive) to cover the base.

Get that really hot.

In the blender or use a hand whisk:
75g Plain Flour
1 Egg
4 fl oz cold water
6 fl oz milk
Salt and pepper

Whisk it to get lots of air in, leave it to sit for ten mins.
Pour into the metal tray(s) and cook for 20-25 mins at 230 degrees

Trick is to not let heat out of the oven and DO NOT open the oven whilst they are cooking.

Even I can make these!
