I'm pissed that my university test scores never improved with daily BOM reading like Elder Nelson's granddaughter's investigator.

-50 for a sickening, self righteous judgement of people who have just heard a loved one has died.

That really hurt me. I was in one of the rooms just a few months ago.

Nelson loves the Book of Mormon. It can even cure pornography addiction according to him. We might note that he is talking only of the "power" of the Book of Mormon, not the "historicity" of the Book of Mormon. He does speak of the "truth" of the Book of Mormon, but "truth != historicity", apparently.

Add a -25 for me in support of MoPag.

Thanks Hagoth. Does he really think people who believe in life after death wouldn't freak out when they learn their loved one has died? I believe in life after death. And I believe I will see my son again. But nothing can soften the absolute shock and horror when you hear they are gone.

The doctor who tried to revive my DS came and talked to me in the room at the children's hospital. He was so kind. He sat by me and held my hands and told everything the paramedics tried and everything he had tried to save my little boy. Those poor families who got the news from Aunt Wendy's husband. As if you could make that situation any worse.

When Cook said 'I want to warn you against arrogance" how I wish he had turned and looked at a certain apostle who spoke in the morning session.
Cook warning against arrogance is the epitome of he pit calling the kettle black.

I don't even know who you're quoting because I didn't watch, but I assume this was Rasband.

Yes!

It was actually kind of endearing how he talked about his dad.

I ended up watching only about 1 minutes of conferences and it was the final talk. I get the feeling the whole conference was ruined by Oaks for NOMs and many TBS. It's like the old uncle who won't shut up telling sex jokes in front of the whole family.
What are your take aways from Conference?

OMG yes^ But it's more like the uncle who tells racist jokes. Oaks is demeaning an entire group of people because of a trait they were born with. And the really sh!tty thing is everything everyone in the "family" believes he is speaking for God. They believe he has some connection to the divine that they do not. And they been conditioned since they were young to always follow and obey racist uncle. :(

Did anybody hear any opposed votes in this general conference? I listened but didn't hear anything, if they did I don't think Eyring acknowledge it. I also noticed Eyring seemed to be in a bit of a hurry during that portion of conference. :)

Oakes "..undo thousands of years of marriage..between a man and a woman"
One man and one woman. Singular.
Well, except for those pesky polygamy and polyandry years.
