Saratoga Springs gets a Temple !!!!

I´m soooo excited
Finally Saratoga Springs UT gets their own temple.
It´s been so long in coming, Heavenly Father heard the prayers of our brothers and sisters.
Finally they can WALK to a Temple, instead of ride a bicycle for 10 minutes to Mt. Timpanogos Temple.........

I think the need lies in having yet another open house celebration for the youth. Youth retention "once in a lifetime" spiritual experience.

It's about asserting dominance. Make sure that anywhere anyone looks in Salt Lake or Utah Valley, a temple will be within your field of vision. They still own the place.

Yes, we would never wish to deprive any of our youth the opportunity to perform in a pre-dedicatory "multicultural" celebration. My son is preparing as we speak to sing & dance to a Potato song: "We dig 'em up...we sack 'em....." Fortunately, my daughter is standing her ground on declining participation. I wish I was making this up. But, no-- This is the spiritual experience they have planned for the Idaho youth -- for the upcoming Re-dedication of the Idaho Falls temple. And, we are in luck! Now, they can recycle the number in Pocatello.

When I was a TBM living in the mission field, I dearly wanted a temple near me, but no one in my area did. They'd say that they just didn't think it right to get a temple closer than an hour and a half away when there are people who have to drive days. I said, PUHLEASE, there are places in the Salt Lake Valley where people have to decide which temple they literally have to drive ten minutes to get to.

In an odd way,, I agree with you. Even though Saratoga Springs is kind of remote (for Utah County), I don't think another temple is needed, here. Mt. Timp has gone from swamped to briskly busy since the temples in Payson and downtown Provo have opened. Parking lots almost as full as ever.

You can tell you are getting cynical when upon hearing of this new Temple, the first thing you wonder is who on the Church Finance Committee will be benefiting from the location choice. When you build a Temple in Utah, nearby property values skyrocket.

They'll plant their fake masonic temple in the middle of one of their large alfalfa fields, and then sell all the property around it for boo-koo $$$,$$$,$$$.

Who cares how much tithing money it brings in? It will probably quadruple the value of the land around it, and maybe they'll make enough money for another mall...

Driving south from Saratoga springs on Redwood Road, the LDS corporation probably owns the majority of the farm-able land within sight on both sides of the road all the way to Elberta. And one of their fancy hunting preservers is located near Elberta.

Wouldn't it be fun to go "hunting" pheasants that are probably raised in a pen just like chickens until they let them "fly" just far enough so some rich mormon can blast them with a 12-gauge? How exciting!!!

I have a brother that lives within sight of the new temple. His home value just jumped up $50,000.
