Gen Con Sat Morning Discussion

Post by didyoumythme » Sat Sep 30, 2017 8:59 am

I didn't see a thread yet for conference sessions. Let me know if there is already a thread. Let us commune for another general NOMference!

So far just pretty standard DFU. Positive up beat message. Encouraging us to be nice.
+5 points for being DFU.

For a while this talk was in danger of being entirely non-denominational. Then "the glorious anthem of the restoration."

DFU talk is full of vague blessings i.e. "You will be blessed beyond your imagination" or something like that. Then he adds the caveat that both righteous and wicked people have good/bad fortune. Nothing concrete to hold on to here.

A lot of non specific feel-good talk, like he's leaving it up to the individual to fill the blanks with stuff line missions, home teaching, paying tithing, etc.

We are more concerned with how many followers we have rather than putting our arm around someone and help them. Hmmm, who does that sound like?

Very true. Not one of his best. But probably better than anything else we will hear.

So God's test for our generation is measured by how much we hate LGBT people. Nice.
