Introductions

To the administrators of the board: Could we have a forum for introductions?

It was a great way for newcomers to dip their toes in, tell their stories and be welcomed. Also, while a lot of members are going to be migrating over from the old NOM where we used to live, I think it would be a great way to break the ice and update the community for anyone who wants to.

I agree. I like reading people's stories. I think that it contributed to the atmosphere at NOM.

You make some good points. The atmosphere and culture of NOM is important. An introductions forum was added.

An Introduction area is a great way to make one feel accepted into our community. It's scary for some to make that first post especially for those just coming out of the gate and don't know where to go. Reading their stories helps me put my own journey into prospective and is a reminder to where I once was. As hard as I have tried to put Mormonism behind me I can't. There seems to be a continuing purpose for me to keep coming back. I guess I have more to learn and maybe pass on a tool or two I have acquired.

The description for the support forum still says, "This is also the place for introductions if you are new to the board." Perhaps that ought to be removed, since we now have a dedicated Introductions forum.
