Dad Died This Morning

Post by Mad Jax » Sun Mar 25, 2018 6:28 am

My brother Rich called me this morning to tell me my father died of a heart attack in the early am. He was a month shy of 80. His heart had been a problem for him for many years, and he was fortunate enough to have good care in Rochester, Mn and fortunate enough to have been married to a skilled nurse for decades. It sounds as if he went quickly.

I think he died content, if he was conscious for any of it. He was a true believing Christian, of a good sort I would say, so I think his final moments were met without fear. I just found out about 20 minutes ago, so this really hasn't "hit" yet. Appreciate all of you.

Mad Jax,
I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. I love the short but beautiful tribute you wrote of your dad. It sounds like he was a wonderful man who was blessed to be married to someone he loved and who loved him, and that he was a good father to his children also.
Sending hugs and prayers your way. May God bless and comfort your family at this time.

Thanks for sharing, Jax. I'm glad that you consider us as part of a group of friends that want to know and help and grieve and reflect with you. My Dad and oldest Brother both passed away last January, and it brings up a lot of emotion. I wish you and your family the best as you mourn and remember the good times.

Jax:

I am so sorry to hear about your Dads passing. I lost my Dad in January and I’m still in disbelief that he is gone. Please know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs!

Glad he had good care at the end and seemed to go quickly in the night.

Sorry to hear Jax.

I think that's a good way to go. Not too early, not too late. No extended hospital stays while your health declines in front of your loved ones. No nasty car accidents, etc.

May you have find memories of your father at this time.

My condolences to you and your family, Mad Jax.

I can only offer my sincere sympathy. It's a double loss of losing someone you love and suddenly finding yourself in charge of a crisis.

So sorry to hear of your loss, my condolences. He sounds like a lucky man who lived a life he could be proud of. Hang in there as you grieve.

Feeling sad for your loss.

There is never a good time to lose someone you love as much as your dad.

Deepest condolences.
