General NOMfrence stats!

Post by MoPag » Tue Apr 17, 2018 10:23 am

Sorry this took so long. My life just got a little crazy. But here are the stats for General NOMfrence Spring 2018:

+45 Reyna I. Aburto “With One Accord”
+40 Echo Hawk “Even as Christ Forgives You, So Also Do Ye”
+35 Bonnie L. Oscarson “Young Women in the Work”
+30 DFU “Behold the Man!”
+30 Elder Brian K. Taylor “Am I a Child of God?”
+25 Elder Massimo De Feo “Pure Love: The True Sign of Every True Disciple of Jesus Christ”
+20 Elder Gerrit W. Gong “Christ the Lord Is Risen Today”
+15 Jean B. Bingham “Ministering as the Savior Does.”
+15 Bishop Gérald Caussé “It Is All about People”
+5 Elder Jeffrey R. Holland “Be With and Strengthen Them”
+5 Elder Taniela B. Wakolo “Saving Ordinances Will Bring Us Marvelous Light”
+5 Elder Larry Y. Wilson Take the Holy Spirit as Your Guide
0 Elder David A. Bednar “Meek and Lowly of Heart”
0 Elder Dale G. Renlund “Family History and Temple Work: Sealing and Healing”
0 Elder Lynn G. Robbins “Until Seventy Times Seven”
-5 Elder Taylor G. Godoy “One More Day”
-5 Henry B. Eyring “His Spirit to Be with You”
-5 Elder Ulisses Soares “Prophets Speak by the Power of the Holy Spirit”
-10 Devin G. Durrant “Teaching in the Home—a Joyful and Sacred Responsibility”
-15 Dallin H. Oaks “Small and Simple Things”
-30 Elder Claudio D. Zivic “He That Shall Endure unto the End, the Same Shall Be Saved”
-50 Elder Gary E. Stevenson “The Heart of a Prophet”
-85 M. Russell Ballard “Precious Gifts from God”
-85 President Russell M. Nelson “Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives”
-125 Elder Neil L. Andersen “The Prophet of God”
-4,015 Elder Quentin L. Cook “Prepare to Meet God”

Sister Reyna I. Aburto, Second counselor in the RS wins General NOMfrence with a score of 45 points for her talk: “With One Accord.” She talked about positively about non-members, encouraged Christ-like love and inclusion. She praised individuality and accepting people who may be different than us.

Cook loses General NOMfrence with an astounding -4,015. He got most of those points for coining the phrase “nonconsensual immorality.” This phrase is sickening and offensive, and the TBMs are going to love/use it. He then tried to equate nonconsensual immorality with consensual immorality. The fact that he couldn’t see why this is bad idea is very disturbing.

I hope you find this list useful if you have to pick lessons or talk topics.

Thank you to everyone who participated in and followed the General NOMfrence threads. And thank you to those who participated in your hearts! :D

Those are good stats. Did Dieter Uchtdorf show up in the rankings? He was one of the minority that acknowedged that it was, in fact, Easter Sunday for conference. "Non-consensual" is my newest phrase for inserting into conversations with believers.

Awesome, thanks for crunching the numbers! “nonconsensual immorality.” I know I shouldn't laugh but this phrase is embarrassingly ridiculous.
