Coming out of temple retirement

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

Coming out of temple retirement

Post by Korihor » Mon Dec 05, 2016 2:54 pm

So many stories from this weekend.

As shared in my "letter to my BP" post, I sent a copy of that letter to my EQP. My EQP is a great guy and we have a real friendship. Also, he is not endowed, but is planning to go to the temple very soon for the first time. He's 42 yrs old. I can't talk him out of it. He knows where I stand, but I can still be a good person an support him in his decisions.

Talking with him at the Ward Xmas party, I asked if he had a date to go to the temple to receive his endowment.

He said maybe next week :o

I ask if he had taken the temple prep classes. He has and has talked with the BP and SP about it. I told him if he's interested, I would be happy to talk with him about the 'stuff I wish I had known' before going to the temple. I said I won't insult anything and say what I shouldn't, but just give him the nuts and bolts of what to expect. He said he really appreciated the offer.

I said maybe I'll even come out of retirement to go with him. He said, "Actually, maybe you could be my escort"

:D

Before you meet with him, send him links to the videos of what really goes on in there. And the essays. And the parallels to the Masons. He could save a lot of money by just joining the Masons if he likes all that stuff.
