It's really strange, to be honest. My whole life, the men and boys have had priesthood session every conference Saturday (at least since I became aware of such a thing). Suddenly, it is our turn to have the special Sat evening meeting. Just feels weird.
I suppose 2 hour church would, too, if I were still there. Too bad they didn't change that just before I had kids. I'd a praised them as a mom and as a primary teacher.

Awe thanks guys!!! I'm happy to try and make GC a little more bearable for all of us.
Speaking of which, I'll set up the threads tomorrow, but I probably won't be on them much. I got put into the Sunday clinical rotation this semester so I'm going to be kind of busy tomorrow.

If this session had a theme, reading between the lines:
The church is having issues not only with people leaving but with the people that stay refusing to hold callings.
Get rid of the YM president, one less MP PH holder required to run the show. Women can be witnesses in the temple, fewer men required to do youth baptisms at the temple.
All that talk from Rasband about not faithfully honoring covenants (presumably to serve the church)... I get the feeling that was all about addressing the members that attend but have opted out of callings. It was a talk with the goal of guilting/shaming people like that back into compliance while arming orthodox members with all the ammo they need to lecture people that aren't Mormoning hard enough.
