Close Friends Child Came Home Early from LDS Mission (Stateside)

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

Anyone hear of something like this before?
YES!

Read this: https://www.discovermagazine.com/health ... d-by-faith
That is actually more common than apparent. The placebo/nocebo effect - the power of belief affects us all physiologically. It’s not the only influence, but a significant piece of the puzzle.

Based on a series of +100 questions to determine the degree of cult, missionaries were about 95% (members about 65%).

I wish the info in this thread could be shouted from the housetops, figuratively speaking. If the covering that hides the harm that's done was ripped off, then missionaries' parents would be apprised of when their child was ill or in danger. The so-called loosening of the missionary rules is not as important as being open and honest with parents and letting a child go home if they feel they can't do it (no guilt, no social punishments, no trying to convince them to stay). And that's saying a lot, because the missionary rules (most of them) need to be chucked out the window.
There are 2 Gods. One who created us. The other you created. The God you made up is just like you-thrives on flattery-makes you live in fear.

Believe in the God who created us. And the God you created should be abolished.
