It is a tough time when you begin asking questions and start looking deeper. But, it sounds like you're in this together with your wife and family which will make it 100 times easier. Nearly all of us have been there, or are still going through it with you, so please stick around! I also look forward to hearing more about your journey.

Welcome! This place is awesome, it was a lifeline for me during the early stages of my transition.
