NOMference Sunday afternoon SP 2021

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

You gotta save Smithfield, UT temple for last. Wow, people from Smithfield won't have to drive to Logan!

Ponder and praise pioneers. The alliteration doesn't flow out of him very well, but he (or his speachwriter) is trying.
He had some nifty alliterations this am too.
That should be awesome alliterations

I'm so blessed to magnify my calling as President of the Doubters Club. May the Great Goddess watch over us as we endure the next few days of Facebook GC regurgitation.

-million for the BH bullshit temple.
My family knows i do my best to avoid Conference, yet announcing a temple where i served a mission 20 years ago is reason enough to call me at work and see if i've "heard the great news".
I haven't been in 6 years, and thought i'd be excited about this?
It's frustrating to see the last resort in a discussion of facts be: I disregard those facts because of my faith. Why even talk about facts if the last resort is to put faith above all facts that are contrary to your faith?

There's much about that horse story that doesn't make sense.

Presumably, his grandfather is giving the horse his head, but maybe kicking him forwards. So.. he stops kicking and the horse eventually turns around and goes home... But only an inexperienced cowboy is going to try to force his horse to go somewhere the cowboy can't see. Trust your horse.

Right, palerider?

And finding your tracks the next morning?? Riiight

I haven't heard this talk yet. Might watch it later but from what comments I have read, I can assume it would depend on how far one was from home.

I had a horse the other day that I was leading (ponying) from another horse and he set back and got away from me. He ran off about a third of a mile away and then realized he didn't have a clue how to get home so he finally just came running back to me.

I've heard of horses who spooked or ran away from their owners in the mountains in the fall and they didn't find them until early spring barely alive.

Get a horse more than a mile from home and they have no idea how to get home.

It's easy to not touch the rainy day fun when over half if those temples will never progress out of the plasking stage. The list of announced temples that have not yet broken ground grows every year.

My husband was trying to argue that Goshen, UT is off the power grid because it's all desert and ranches, therefore the power coming BACK on was miraculous.

Me: then how did they have power in the first place???
