Post conference humor: flip the script?

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

Post conference humor: flip the script?

Post by Red Ryder » Tue Apr 06, 2021 4:43 pm

In an effort to uproot deep seated traditions and indoctrination, I thought it would be fun to make a list and start flipping LDS traditional labels on their head. Here’s a few that come to mind:

▪️The Society of the Twelve Apostles

▪️The Indoctrinates and Covenants

▪️Jesus Wants Me for a Moonbeam

▪️The Plan of Damnation (for Lazy Learners)

▪️14 Fundamentals of Disobeying the Prophet

▪️ ???

Our beloved prophet, Even President Wendy Nelson

"All in favor, please manifest by taking another shot."

The Quorum of the Twelve Apostates

"When this righteous man withdrew his trembling hands from his child's head, the arm had already regrown. He knew that it was a sign, as surely as he had seen Jesus Christ himself burned into his toast that morning."

"At the conclusion of the meeting, the choir will perform favors for us. All of us."

If I had nibbler's talent for editing images, I would replace the Liahona in Friberg's famous painting with a magic 8-ball.
Learn to doubt the stories you tell about yourselves and your adversaries.

Given the very high average age of the choirs I have seen, I'll pass on those favors.

The three greatest threats to the church are anti-intellectualism, patriarchy, and homophobia.
The 1st Quorum of the 70-year-olds
We excuse Bishop Smith today. He can only move diagonally and is trapped by a knight and rook.
I was going to find another way to say "lazy learner" but the thesaurus is in the other room and it didn't seem worth the trip.

Is this anything like what you're going for?
