Mormon Stories about the Abusive Bishop.

Post by deacon blues » Thu Feb 24, 2022 7:20 pm

Mormon Stories 1550 with Kody and Cami Reddish is a fascinating conversation about how the Church dealt with a bishop who was a convicted child abuser. Kody is an attorney and is able to give special insights into the whole legal process.
The process can be summed up by the idea WWJLD- What Would Jesus's Lawyer Do?

Just listened today. They lost some TBM's in this debacle. The church truly showed their colors here. It is sad that they protect themselves over the least of these our little ones.

One real jaw-dropping moment was when the Reddish's recount how their Stake President was trying to explain why God inspired him to call a pedophile as bishop. The Stake President essentially said, "God wanted bishop X to be there. God works in mysterious ways, perhaps he inspired me to call a pedophile as bishop so that he would get caught sooner." Mormon Stories 1550: minutes 58-63or so. :o

The lawyers at Kirton McConkie rationalize that money needs to be saved for the Nauvoo Intergalaxy Space Ark. Members are expendable.

Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.
