I'm so excited for General Conference

Post by Hagoth » Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:51 am

I can't wait to hear how God is going to deal with Putin and whether or not I need to stock up on vitamin pills & lead-lined garments.

Wearing normal garments was a burden already........
But as always, the fanatics will say this is why you should have a foodstorage.
Never mind that mormons are at risk now of being robbed of said storage.

Quote Nelson, talk up Nelson, and say the phrase "covenant path" so often that he begs for mercy.

Conference will be sponsored by DoTERRA's special Iodine tablets with lavender oil. 'Special' because they all received special blessings before leaving the factory.

I wish conference would be like that. I'd love to see Nelson get up and talk about how evil Putin is for killing civilians in Ukraine. At least it would be interesting.

Instead, we'll get the same crap about how end times are near, and the world's problems would be resolved if everyone would just be more like Jesus and follow the prophet. BARF! It will be yet another snoozefest, and 7 months from now nobody will remember or care what was said.

I think 7 Months is giving WAY too much credit. The only think keeping them in people's heads is church assigning them for talks and various lessons over the next months. If they didn't force people to review them, the amount of time before they were forgotten could be measured in hours, not months. No one would remember them after 7 days.

Here's an experiment for someone. Quiz them Monday evening after conference about what was said. If they can't give a detailed, coherent answers, then conference is not even good for 36 hours.

I have often brought up points from the talk that just ended, only to be told, "I guess I wasn't listening close enough to catch that."

This will be the time when MoPag shines and creates threads for us to share communal thoughts on the speakers and sessions.

Man, the fun you could have with this. You could almost ask about any random thing and ask their thoughts if they were not paying attention.

Have you ever heard the story about when J. Golden Kimball did this in conference? “It has been proposed that Mount Nebo be moved from its present site in Juab County and be placed on the Utah-Idaho border. All in favor make it manifest by raising the right hand; opposed, by the same sign.”

It passed, right?
