Internship for a TBM kid

Post by Meilingkie » Fri Oct 21, 2016 8:43 am

Hello folks

Like to have your input here.
Counselor to the SP has a 15YO son who needs an internship.
Just a short one, it´s mandatory to have an internship of a week for every education.
My son does a vocation study, so he does 3 months/year.
But this kid is a high-flyer and want to go to College. And is interested in shipping and economics.

I work at a shipping-line agent, and I was considering offering him a position.
However the work-place is brutal for any LDS.

Swearing is incessant.
It´s a pretty sexist environment to boot (going both ways btw).
For example: I walked in on a Monday pretty upbeat, and the young-ladies in my dept asked me if I´ve had oral sex last night, no joke.
I´m the only male in my department.

Would you subject a 15YO kid, with a very sheltered TBM upbringing to such an environment??
My own son took it in stride, but he was a bit accustomed to it.......

No, no, no. Maybe.

I think the folks would act differently with a 15 year old boy around. Probably no oral sex jokes. BTW, is that why you were so jovial?
