Does anyone have references to the Nov. Policy being given by revelation?
I could swear they actually said it was given by revelation. I can hardly believe this level of backpedaling- backpedaling at best, gaslighting at worst. Of course, they say now that their decision is inspired...
Does anyone have references to the church saying that the November Exclusion Policy was given as revelation?

The First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles counsel together and share all the Lord has directed us to understand and to feel, individually and collectively. And then, we watch the Lord move upon the President of the Church to proclaim the Lord’s will.
This prophetic process was followed in 2012 with the change in minimum age for missionaries, and again with the recent additions to the Church’s handbook, consequent to the legalization of same-sex marriage in some countries. Filled with compassion for all, and especially for the children, we wrestled at length to understand the Lord’s will in this matter. Ever mindful of God’s plan of salvation and of His hope for eternal life for each of His children, we considered countless permutations and combinations of possible scenarios that could arise. We met repeatedly in the temple in fasting and prayer and sought further direction and inspiration.
And then, when the Lord inspired His prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, to declare the mind of the Lord and the will of the Lord, each of us during that sacred moment felt a spiritual confirmation. It was our privilege as Apostles to sustain what had been revealed to President Monson. Revelation from the Lord to His servants is a sacred process. And so is your privilege of receiving personal revelation.

That led to the Utah-based faith's new policy regarding same-sex Mormon couples — that they would be labeled "apostates" and that their children would not be allowed baptism and other LDS religious rites until they turn 18.
"Each of us during that sacred moment felt a spiritual confirmation," Nelson, next in line for the Mormon presidency, told the faith's young adults in the first official explanation of the hotly debated policy's origins. "It was our privilege as apostles to sustain what had been revealed to President Monson."
Nelson explained that revelation from the Lord to his servants is a sacred process.
"The [three-member] First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles counsel together and share all the Lord has directed us to understand and to feel, individually and collectively," he said. "And then, we watch the Lord move upon the president of the church to proclaim the Lord's will."

President Russell M. Nelson, who succeeded President Monson as church president, was president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in 2015. He said in early 2016 that the November 2015 policies were the result of revelation. Latter-day Saints believe that God directs the church through ongoing revelation through a living prophet, the church president. President Nelson, who became the church president in January 2018, told general and area authorities from around the world during Thursday morning's meeting that a flurry of policy changes over the past yearwere inspired by revelation.

Too bad Elohim can't reveal to them that they should stop lying to their followers...

Well, they really are trying to be more transparent, I think. But I can't believe the kind of logic they'll have to use when they are transparent.FiveFingerMnemonic wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 10:33 amToday's deseret news article actually mentions it!

Re: Does anyone have references to the Nov. Policy being given by revelation?
Elder Nelson announced that the policy was a revelation when he was speaking to some young adult function in Hawaii in January 2016. It was only described as a policy when it first came out as printed in the Bishop's handbook.
Of course, the anger of the Brethren was still white hot toward the Supreme Court decision when the policy and subsequent revelation came out. The lesson to learn from this is to not make policies and declare revelations when you are extremely angry. You might have to later retract them. Try to be loving as Jesus suggested.

Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

Let’s not forget that just seven months ago, they incorporated the November policy into the seminary curriculum to demonstrate how revelation works.

You know, before public outcry made them change course. Surprising how often that works.
