It's a great lecture so far.

Started watching the recording of Dr. Ehrman last night, but sleep took over.

I hope they leave it up so I can finish it... :geek:

I probably should have brought this up earlier, but I am presenting at Sunstone tomorrow (July 31) at 3:25 PM. The title is: "How Is the Church Really Doing?: Some Uncorrelated Statistics". If you would like to read my real name, see my real face, and hear my real voice, come attend. This is not some talk where I am slamming the church at all. It's almost something I would talk about in actual church. LDS Inc is doing a couple of things right and I connect this to how people might want to interact with the church if they want to start changes.

Friday, July 31st

265 - How Is the Church Really Doing?: Some Uncorrelated Statistics
3:25 pm-4:25 pm

Description
The LDS church releases loads of statistics, and they imply many more. This is a brief (and possibly entertaining) look at the LDS Church's demographic profile and how its may need to change in order to meet future demands. Information is drawn from official reports and almanacs. Comparisons will be made with other churches and even the early Christian church. We can’t see the future, but historyans statitstics might help us see its outlines.

Very cool. I have a client 3:30-5 so will stalk the recordings.

It's hard to believe that only a year ago I was sitting in a room with a bunch of other people attending Corsair's presentation in person.

Finally made it through the Ehrman video. This real biblical scholar stuff always blows my mind...

Thank you, it went very well and I got some very nice comments afterwards.

I started watching that presentation and it was very painful. His argument seemed to be, "all of these scriptures show that plural marriage is not right and then these statements show that Joseph was not a fan. Therefore, Joseph's reported plural marriage is clearly just misunderstood."
