Temples

We have been taught growing up that one of the first temples was used in the days of Moses. They had a nomadic temple in the desert. Fast forward to today, the church continues to put millions of dollars into building temples. These temples are used to conduct rituals, but have little value for the community. They provide few jobs, they produce nothing that is of value to the community, and yet the church keeps building them.
Why do you think the church has not developed mobile temples instead? These mobile temples could go to areas where fewer members live or where it is difficult for people to get to a larger temple.
Thoughts?

At one point in history the church explored the idea of a ship based temple that could sale anywhere for the saints. Perhaps satan's control of the waters prevented that idea from coming to fruition.

Temples are really just PR stunts, and generators of revenue. They are to make the local believers think "Hey, the church is doing awesome, or they wouldn't be building temples."

I guess what I'm trying to say is: The ordinances that happen in the temple are not the most important thing about the temple. "Taking" those ordinances to people who "need" them is really not important, or COJCOLd$™-Inc. would make that a priority.

If the ordinances were important, rather than a just an elegant building to impress people, and something to force tithing, the church would figure something out. But they LIKE a big expensive building, set up on a hill for non members to be oh so impressed with. Just think, the San Diego temple made a list of 50 most beautiful churches in the whole world. Aren’t you impressed yet? And they can document an increase in tithing in an area when a temple is built close. They like telling inspirational stories about the family that sacrificed being together in this life so they can be together in the next one. That fact that causing family separation for YEARS like that is abusive is lost on them.

It is like the sacrament during the pandemic. The sacrament is SO important that you must attend church every week to partake. But if there is a pandemic, then they will give priesthood holders permission to do it at home, and widows, single women, and women married to someone without priesthood can just do without for the year or however long before a vaccine comes out. No problem. That’s what you get for being female. The church could figure out a way to bless it remotely if it was the sacrament that was important. No, the sacrament is only important because it keeps people hooked on weekly church attendance.

Temple worship is a form of idolatry. It requires holy objects such as clothing, buildings and such not used otherwise in mundane things.

One could extend the argument to any holy land, or common religious building. Most religious people would not agree as it's not directly venerated. But a thing that itself is holy can't be other than an idol.
