Real Estate done wrong

So the Church in Holland tried to sell off a lot of nice buildings in posh and popular inner-city locations.
Of course this is handled by Facility Management, you'd think.
Right? Right?!

Well, seems the facilities-manager in Holland wasn't authorized to sign anything over a certain amount of money.
So yeah, the Nijmegen Ward-building, ward closed in Jan 2017 was supposed to be sold in 2019.
But every time someone interested came along, and there were plenty, the negotiations had to go through SLC.

Not The Area-Office mind you, HQ in SLC. Because the former ward-building is a three story 19th century Inner-city Mansion-house.
Worth a few million.

Result: As it's mixed use (Church, and living) it inevitably got squatted in the lively college-town that is Nijmegen.
And per Dutch Law squatting is not equal to breaking-in and entering IF the remises is unused for over a year running.
Eviction is only possible by a justice of the peace who has to hand-deliver the summons to the actual person squatting.
