The prefabricated module components of the Helena Montana temple have been delivered ready to be assembled on the specially designed foundation. I think there is around 12 using this floor plan in various locations. I think it’s no coincidence that Marriott have been trialling this method for rapid construction.

If this becomes a favoured method for the smaller temples, you could see construction jump significantly. Watch the money roll in when members are blackmailed into paying tithing to do the hokey pokey and play dress up.

When you started with "Modular Construction", I immediately thought that the next temple might be a double-wide mobile home. While the subsequent thought was that this was absurd, now I'm imagining a couple of big rigs backing in the left and right half of the Montana temple onto the concrete pad in Shady Acres Retirement Community (55+, of course).

To me, I'm surprised that they are just now starting this.

Building using modular, prefab building sections has been around for a while and has grow enormously over the last few decades. This is common in all aspects of buildings.

Prefab homes are your tradtional trailers, but today that includes houses that are built in modular sections and assembled. Or even wall frames that are factor built on automated assembly robots and then assembled on site. A good modern modular home is visually indistinguishable from traditional stick built construction, but stronger, better quality, and lower cost.



Large warehouses and commercial building commonly use steel and/or pre-cast concrete wall sections that are assembled.


Really, these techniques are basically industry standard. My question is why didn't the TSCC start doing this along time ago? Lower cost, faster construction, and better control of quality. It's a developer's dream. Is the church so focused on "best of the best" that they have ignored this, or is their building department so out of date that they are just now catching up to tech that is 20 years old?

High quality precast panels have been used for a while now.
