Prophecy and Modern times

Post by Zeezrom » Wed Oct 11, 2023 8:08 am

So here we go with the possible start of open war between the armies of Israel against Gog and Magog. Cleon Skousen and all the 19th to 20th century Mormon prophets have laid out the blueprint. We need two apostles to go to Jerusalem and perform signs and wonders as they hold back the heathen armies from Jerusalem’s gates for 3 and 1/2 years. Then they will be killed and their bodies left in the street for 3 and 1/2 days as the heathens celebrate and give each other gifts. Then the 2 get resurrected and Jesus comes down splitting the mount of olives in two etc..,etc….etc

This future was drilled into my head from the time I was a child. I only have one question….which two out of the Q15 are willing to put up their right hand and volunteer to go to Jerusalem…..maybe Bednar?????

I remember the aftermath of the 1967 war. The chatter in Rexburg was that it was "a sign of the times," and that the Second Coming was not far off- say about the year 2000. :o
God is Love. God is Truth. The greatest problem with organized religion is that the organization becomes god, rather than a means of serving God.

It will be one of the cheap prefab cookie cutter jobs.

Russell Nelson keeps talking about how close we are to the end, but he doesn't seem to have any insights beyond that. I assume his end-of-the-world thermometer measures something like how many gay people are married.

BTW, Tel Megiddo is about 800 feet across and the entire Megiddo valley is only about 5 miles wide. It's going to get pretty crowded when the great armies of the world amass there to fight the final battle.

I called the topic prophecy and modern times cause that’s the name of Skousen’s book that was on my bookshelf as a kid and a lot of us gen-x ers were taught from it whether we knew it or not. The most disturbing part for me was not the death and destruction and gore but when he said that all of mankind would watch (like a giant movie in the sky?) the true history of every dark deed ever done by everyone who ever lived and only the saints would be grateful for their repentance that meant their lives would be edited. As a teenager I lived in fear of all my family watching a video of every time I masturbated lol.

Bednar is the one! I'm convinced he's so narcissistic he drinks the koolaid and really believes it. I can't decide who the other one would be, probably Rasband.

That was a terror for me. Grandma will see! It didn't help when Vaughn J. Featherstone General Priesthood Session described the great scroll that will be unrolled someday with the names of all the men and boys in the church who masturbated or looked at porn on it for everyone to see.

This talk is really worth reading. It's one of the most damaging messages to young men ever created in the church: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/stu ... g?lang=eng

Here's another hit from that talk:

"I know of a great man who held his dead son in his arms, and said, “In the name of Jesus Christ and by the power and authority of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood, I command you to live.” And the dead boy opened up his eyes.

This great brother could not have possibly done that had he been looking at a pornographic piece of material a few nights before or if he had been involved in any other transgression of that kind. The priesthood has to have a pure conduit to operate."

Great message: God will kill your children if you ever look at porn.

p.s. I'm sure there must have been a doctor on hand to declare the boy dead. Nobody would just make stuff like that up, right? I mean, there's probably a scroll with the names of General Authorities who lie. Everyone will see it, even Grandma!

During the disproportionate war that's raging between Israel and Palestine, any prophets going there could risk being killed... I highly doubt our leaders will mess with this conflict, unlike the Ukraine, Palestine has no members or temples.
Russia has members and no one is talking about them. I think Israel will drag the US into. A world war 3 the moment they flatten Gaza. Being all pro Israel may cause the Church to be targeted but who knows whether the 2 prophets mentioned in the scripture will be LDS? Unlikely, in my opinion.

I believe there is a non-zero chance (somewhere less than 5%) that humans will be stupid enough to start world war 3 and destroy the world and life as we know it. (I see Iran etc.. making a lot of threats but other than a few rogue terrorists with missiles, none have the guts to risk destroying their seat of power by starting a war of annihilation…same with Putin—he may threaten nuclear war but that’s bad for his oligarch business)

However I believe there is a Zero chance that 2 “prophets” will hold back armies with supernatural power when all modern “prophets” are capable of doing is taking the wrong fork in a two way road after praying about it ala Jeffery Holland.

I could see Bednar in a few years feeling like he has the authority to require one of the junior members of the quorum to go with him. I could also imagine that lawyer/businessman saying, "hell, no!"

The current conflict is a mess. I don't see any good guys. I do see a lot of victims. It's tragic.

No modern-day prophet, pastor, or intelligent human is going to prophecy or go against the NWO and the Luciferians who now control the United States and other parts of the world. Why? For starters they would be deemed to be domestic terrorists and risk ruining their churches and associated enterprises. With some bad luck, they would just disappear, die of "suicide" or have a sudden death or accident. So, until Christ comes, the current anti-Christs and the Luciferian Cabal will make sure that rebels keep their mouths shut. Christ prophesied about these perilous times. By the end of 2024, I think it will be one big mess. I don't care about either presidential candidates, especially the demented one. But if crap happens comes November, everything can change drastically. As Jesus said, he that has ears let him hear. I think the crap will hit the fan and everything will be turned upside down as the Cabal rules the world, their NWO. Recently, the FBI director made some scary accusations. It's on video. If you haven't seen it, take a look. This is where things are headed. It is wise to be prepared for perilous times, the pandemic was just a mild warning, in my opinion. Modern-day prophets can't really go out there and tell the world what they think. In Joseph's time, ok, some mob comes and shoots the poor guy who then falls out of the window. Nowadays, the Cabal would put them and all that they manage out of business or out of existence, trumping even the rule of law. Their money and power is immense. They have tentacles everywhere, money, media, governments, trade, commerce, laws, courts, you name it. They are the evil powers and potentates. Tin foil off. No prophet will dare speak against them because, JOHN 8:44.
