Neither of them fit within either classical philosophies such as stoicism or Aristotelian ethics or within modern philosophies such as empiricism or rationalism.

...but I think it can be agreed that the current, modern terms - in all their permutations - have little to do with their classical definitions.
I'm interested in these two thoughts. Pretty broad topics it sounds like.

Here is a lengthy, but fascinating detailed examination into the illogical, inconsistent, and baseless comments uttered by Ben Shapiro. Among many other things, Nathan Robinson discusses how Shapiro is a fierce advocate of free speech, as long as it's his free speech and quite willing to limit it when he doesn't agree with it. (Kind of the very example of those who clamor "freeze peach".)

The Cool Kid's Philosopher

Robinson spends quite a bit of time discussing how Shapiro "debunks transgenderism". Summary: Shapiro doesn't really debunk transgenderism. Clearly he doesn't have much of a clue what he's talking about. But as long as he says it forcefully, emphatically, and rapid-fire enough, people don't mind the factual and logical issues and gobble it up.

"The encouraging news is that if Ben Shapiro is the sharpest thinker among millennial conservatives, millennial leftists don’t have too much to worry about."
"Close your eyes, for your eyes will only tell the truth,
And the truth isn't what you want to see" (Charles Hart, "The Music of the Night")

Finally got around to reading that article. Wow, that was good.
