Uncorrelated Deviants

Post by RubinHighlander » Tue Aug 21, 2018 4:45 pm

Not much excitement in local units, especially behind the MorCor curtain. So when drama or true humor rears it's uncorrelated head in your still attending neck of the woods, we should share it here on NOM. Here's a good one from last Sunday from a NOM friend, still attending. He says the sister in charge of the programs is a but on the nutty side; we'll let you be the judge of that:

On the back was a word search, but this word was not found: "Sideboob"

Nothing like a scripture about voyeurism and a topless drawing of an OT hottie to help those young men (and all the rest of us) keep our minds out of the dark corners of the stage during SM! Nice work sister Nutty Gospel Art! I think she should monetize that work into a adult coloring book.

Side-boob on the coloring pages. This may be a very popular day for the 10 year old boys in Primary. Still, the fact that this page exists at all is astonishing.

Fairly imaginative to picture Bathsheba stepping into a rooftop swimming pool to bathe (while wearing a skirt). With that image, it is no wonder why David sent her husband Uriah on an Early-Day Saint mission.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

What is also amazing is this was the senior primary lesson last Sunday. How do you teach primary kids about King David having many wives and concubines but lusting after bathsheba because he got bored with the rest? Also, the David story seems strange in that he really didn't get in trouble until Uriah died. It seems that the whole voyerism adultery thing was cool since he was king, but as soon as he called a hit on Uriah, it was game over.

Some Ideas for future artwork:

1. Zipporah Circumcises Her Son
2. David Presents Saul with 200 Foreskins for Michal's hand in marriage
3. 2 Children Mauled by a Bear for Mocking a Bald Man
4. The Sodomites Have their Way with Lot's Daughters
5. Noah Gets Drunk and Passes Out Naked Outside his Tent
6. The Talking Donkey
7. Jael Nails a Guy's Head to the Ground with a Tent Stake
8. "Them that Pisseth Against the Wall"

The list could go on and on, would love to see some more "artwork" on program covers.

Please don't leave out the entire book of the Songs of Solomon. I would like to put in my pre-order for that one!

AND...don't forget Genesis 38:9, "And Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so it came about that when he went in to his brother's wife, he wasted his seed on the ground, ..."

Don't let her bring a pop-up book to the church next Sunday.
