Romney and Trump's Tirades

If Mitt Romney had been chosen for Secretary of State when he was interviewing for that job, how do you think he would have handled Trump's constant anger tirades with his staff and cabinet?

That's an interesting question birdman. It's been somewhat amusing seeing Romney try to play coy with Trump, while trying to maintain his foot in the party.

I'm so sick of tired of all the crap the blues and reds keep slinging at each other while they accomplish nothing, expect spending our hard earned tax dollars on record trillion dollar deficit BS! I need that bumper sticker for the next election that says "Literally any functioning adult!"

High turnover is so common in the Trump administration, I think it is virtually by design, not as a bug. I think it gives Trump a way to lump blame on outgoing staff. Romney would simply not have survived.

Romney showed courage when he voted to allow witnesses in the Senate impeachment trial.

I wonder if this whole thing about going against the rest of the Senate republicans is a bid to suck up to Republicans who are not fans of Trump as a way to go for another shot at president.

Of course with Utah pushing to have him impeached as senator (a bid likely to be ruled unconstitutional), you wonder who would actually support him as a alternate to trump?

Romney's plight is similar to an honest whiskey distributor who stood up to the mafia. The mafia brooks no dissent and so wishes to rub him out. That is a shame because the mafia is a hopelessly corrupt organization. If anything, Romney deserves praise from all who oppose organized crime.

I noticed that the Sinclair Broadcast Group has begun attacking Mitt Romney as part of the Trump retribution. Wonder if Ukraine can be encouraged to manufacture dirt on Mitt?

I was wondering why KUTV was singling out Mitt on a story that also applies to many other politicians. Makes sense now.

Man, I have to hand it to Mitt for taking his balls back today. No doubt is party will put them in the vice to punish him for listening to his conscience.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I've never been a big fan of Mitt, but that was a boss move on his part, standing up for principles over political party. Do you think it kills his chances for any future presidential runs? I"m guessing it does.

On his previous run, Mitt was heavily scrutinized by the Evangelical undercurrent of the Republican party for not being the right kind of Christian and he ended up compromising his ideals to try to please them. I think he learned a lesson from that. Now he stands up and proclaims that it is because of his oath before God that he cannot join the mob and turn away from truth for the benefit of the party. The other legislators who claim to be primarily motivated by serving God, and who like to make that the differentiator between themselves and Democrats, can't afford to show much tolerance for a "mock" Christian who has shown a light on their hypocrisy by appearing to have a backbone in valuing God over politics, so I suspect they will do whatever they can to harpoon his career.

Maybe he should consider changing parties. There are a lot of Democrats who believe in God but don't have much use for Tea Party ideology.

"Wrong, wrong, wrong move" suggests Rep. Jim Jordan to Mitt Romney, "He may be a criminal scumbag, but he is our criminal scumbag!"

Don Jr. thinks Romney should be kicked out of the Republican caucus for having the moral fortitude to stand up to Il Patrone. As Don Jr. pointed out, "All the rest of the jellyfish were content just to float alongside Il Duce." "Romney had to go out of his way to evolve a spine."

This is fascinating to me to see play out. Wasn't Mitt a Democrat when he was governor of Mass?

But you know Trump was a democrat before also...

Anyway- I will bet Mitt now announces he is going to challenge Trump for the GOP nomination.

Now he's being censured by the Utah legislature. Trump's popularity is at it's highest and Utah leads the pack at 59% because he is such a shining example of all of the things we teach our kids to be in Primary and YM/YW.

It kind of makes sense, when you think about it. If you can rationalize a prophet of God sneaking around with teenage girls behind his wife's back I guess it's not too much of a stretch to overlook a US president "grabbing them by the p*ssy" and paying off porn stars that he was having affairs with behind his wife's back. One eternal round.

My favorite thing to learn was that the artist John McNaughton (sp?) is a Mormon artist, and he is also apparently heading some sort of Mormon splinter group... which is just amazing.

Do you have any more information on this splinter group? I have never heard of this.

Who will Trump blame for the huge losses on the New York Stock Exchange?
