The Suit and Russell M. Nelson

Post by moksha » Thu Jul 12, 2018 9:33 am

Does Russell M. Nelson put on a business suit to become President of the Church, or does the President of the Church put on a business suit to become Russell M. Nelson? To what extent does the business suit enhance his powers and abilities?
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

Are we talking about the Mr. Mac suit or the Sex Prevention suit underneath the Mr. Mac suit?

It's the articles of incorporation that declare a corporation sole whose succession is to the senior apostle.

It's about the law, not the revelation. Thus we have 15 Prophets seers and revelators, but only one president of the church, that title coming from the articles of incorporation in November 1923. But the succession is clarified in 1940 amendments.

It's easy to get confused about this. The suit itself is the president of the church. It wears Russell M. Nelson.

It calls itself Mantle. Without a human symbiote, it doesn't have a heart.

This explains a lot about the modern LDS church. We can all think of policy moves that reflect an empty suit. At some point in the past, this Mantle became stronger than the guy wearing the suit.

I think we need to get back to prophets with beards. Brigham Young through George Albert Smith were some cool looking dudes.
God is Love. God is Truth. The greatest problem with organized religion is that the organization becomes god, rather than a means of serving God.

When Ezra Taft Benson became too feeble to move his his own limbs without the aid of puppetry-for-the-Lord the suit seized the opportunity and began to develop its own powers of mobility. Today it rules from the mall to the ends of the Florida wilderness.

Here is an illustration from the Ensign showing the suit's perception of its effect on the average member:
