What are you doing to protect your family against the virus?

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

All kidding aside, what a marvelous opportunity for worthy priesthood holders who are magnifying their callings to exercise their powers to heal the sick with consecrated oil.
Maybe Pres. Nelson could wipe his brow with a handkerchief and have it passed around to heal any member who gets the virus. That's what Joseph Smith did for malaria.

My prediction. Conference will be conducted without a live audience and at least one of the speakers will declare that the Lord created TV and the internet just for this reason. Miracles!

My son sent me this, it’s pretty chilling. Joe Rogan had an infectious disease specialist on his show, this is a 15 min excerpt. I listened/watched with my husband and a few of my kids. I think we are unprepared in the US.
Example:
My son is in Utah. His roommate’s sister flew in from NY, (to Utah) and is staying with her parents. (thank goodness not w/ my son & roommate.) She’s having symptoms-fever etc and went to Ut Valley hospital. They couldn’t/wouldn’t test her & told her to see a dr. Her mom basically called every dr in Utah, no one can or will test her. Said there is a private company who does it, but private co. told her “Unless you cannot breathe, or have a temp of at least 104, we won’t test you.” There aren’t enough tests to go around in the US.
Stay safe, and please don’t do anything stupid like go on a cruise.
This is worth a listen for a few min:

PS: I agree w/ Hagoth. I told my fam earlier I think GenCon will be cancelled, they will just read talks on TV. I also told my fam that I think passing sacrament will be stopped for a while, but until it is our kids are not allowed to touch or take it.

Forget about GC, we need to all start calling church headquarters and voicing concern with attending church at the local building. 70% of my ward is over age 65 with various health issues already.

Sorry Bish... we are staying home!

If they're still trying to get her tested, have them contact the Utah Department of Health: 888-374-8824.

Looks like they will be dropping all large meetings on the local level as well:

They should cancel all Sunday meetings too if they are really concerned... as has been mentioned there are a lot of surfaces being touched and a lot of bread being torn apart by hands with unknown histories.

No problem! All they have to do is use the priesthood to bless the Conference Center than the COVID-19 virus shall be banished from all church buildings. Anyone who is sick that walks into the building can be instantly cured and all other shall be protected from contracting it. "Take up thy bed and walk!" Behold! The power of god in the 21st Century.

What... What did you say?

https://coronavirus.utah.gov/

The doctors that were contacted "should have" called the Dept. of Health for "further instruction." Who knows if the young ladies family will be able to get an further through the Dept. of Health. The Dept. of Health has suggested setting up testing facilities "outside" of the hospitals and clinics, but so far only the University of Utah has got that up and running.

This type of BS is the type of thing that is going to get ALL of us exposed to this bug

Frame them. They'll be collectors items one day.

Rusty did say that April 2020 would be a "Conference like no other."

I asked the wife how the camera will pan the audience for the token minority and she said “they still have the choir...”.

A friend sent me that link. At the end Joe's guest says he's going to spend the rest of the show talking about all of the reasons not to be scared, but the clip ends there. I think people like to be scared. This could get really bad but it is not the bubonic plague. If not for the media response and everyone's reaction to it I have a feeling that most of us would end up looking back at it as a particularly bad flu year. I worry that having everything grind to a halt out of fear may be the worst part of it. A lot of people could lose their retirements. A lot of people could suffer and die from not being able to get their prescription medications. The virus is bad, but maybe the knee-jerking is worse. And emptying the shelves of toilet paper isn't a solution.

I like how my mormon friends keep saying “he did say it would be a conference to remember!” Like this is the reason for that.

If it were and he had previous knowledge of this, he’d be a real jerk for not telling people to be prepared or alerting authorities 😂🤷‍♀️

808 cases in the US today.
1,281 active US cases right now.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

I’m too am so tired of hearing “he did say it would be a conference to remember.” What a bunch of crap. I even had one TBM tell me that they think Christ is gonna be at conference. This is just plain ridiculous....I can’t breath. I used to hang on every word and believe everything they said. Now from a different perspective it’s silly. However, my wife is totally into it. My kids are too. I don’t care to argue with anyone about how I feel about all this. Anyway, my 2 cents. (Grrrrrrrrr)
