What are you doing to protect your family against the virus?

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

Is everyone carrying emergency bottles of consecrated olive oil so that you can give yourself and your loved ones a quick dab of protection? Feel free to add in some cinnamon oil for a nice holiday smell. Might as well bless some clove oil for those having toothaches.
All kidding aside, what a marvelous opportunity for worthy priesthood holders who are magnifying their callings to exercise their powers to heal the sick with consecrated oil. With all the priesthood holders the Church has, we should have this coronavirus thing licked in no time. Maybe the Brethren can go out and touch the afflicted and they will be headed immediately, just like the apostles did in the New Testament. Hell, even Peter’s shadow falling on an afflicted person healed the sick back then.

It speaks volumes that no Mormons are suggesting priesthood healing powers as a response to the spread of coronavirus.
TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU Not Buying It. Gees Louis. The minute I do hear a priesthood person saying something like this I’m gonna punch em in the mouth. Seriously now.

Ha! Figures.

Yeah, it has all the makings of a proper Mormon miracle. Jesus only appears when there's no one to see or photograph him. It's like the invisible boy in Mystery Men. He can make himself invisible, but only when no one is looking.

Anyone here in a bishopric position planning to suggest suspending the partaking of the sacrament, and just praying over some bread and water w/o passing it? The congregation could just meditate for 2 min after each prayer.
Serious question-because what are we all supposed to do this Sunday?

Looks like they will be dropping all large meetings on the local level as well:

Wow, once in a rare while an Act Of God results in good consequences!
Two weeks ago they cancelled church in the stake next to ours and the members and missionaries just came to our stake's meetings instead. That was not the point of cancelling.

This will be interesting to see and may depend on where you are and the severity of it. Our governor prohibited public gatherings of over 250 people, so I am guessing church is cancelled. If not, I'm simply not going. Last week I went for first hour and refused the tray. I know everyone talks about dirty deacon hands, but it's the forty people who touch it before I get my wonder bread and thimble full of water that bothers me most.

Isn't that what happened at the Kirtland Temple dedication? Elijah showed up after JS went behind a curtain where no one else could see it happen?

Maybe they will tell people to bless the sacrament individually in their own homes. See? This is why you need priesthood in the home, dammit!

Wow does that include schools? I’m in Az and work at a school in Phoenix, should be interesting to see how this unfolds. ASU just closed, and I know Standord and Harvard closed, and they have access to top medical experts in the world. It’s pretty surreal watching this unfold.

It does not include K-12 schools at this point, though one school district in the Salt Lake area has closed. The Utah colleges are closing campuses and trying to run class over the internet where possible.

BYU just went to online classes and is recommending kids go home to complete.

Public schools here are still open.

All church meetings cancelled. It's a NOM fantasy! My kids will still be at home in ties and dresses doing come follow me lessons but at least I don't have to listen to other's dogmatic rhetoric in the building.

I'm a student at the U of U and I just got an email that said the same. Does that mean I'm off the hook for my Religious Studies class presentation? I was pretty stoked about it.
