Does covid-19 care if you're righteous or wicked?

Post by deacon blues » Wed Mar 18, 2020 6:52 am

We've all heard the story about how Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because God and/or Abraham couldn't find ten righteous people within the city(ies?) Almost 4,000 years later the current plague seems to be aimed toward the Chinese and Italians. Is this because they are more wicked? Is it because they have more dishonesty or "immorality?" How many of you are old enough to remember preachers saying AIDS was God's response to homosexuality? Not to mention the Nephite civilization was destroyed because of its wickedness, which is the whole premise of the BOM.

Perhaps I could bring this up in our neighborhood Sunday School next Sunday.

God is Love. God is Truth. The greatest problem with organized religion is that the organization becomes god, rather than a means of serving God.

If COVID-19 really is God punishing the wicked, it's going to be more like the global flood than Sodom and Gomorrah.

Except most of the people affected will get better instead of dying.

Hmm... Just Chinese and Italians?

The U.S.A. is just a few weeks behind them as far as where the target is "aimed."

The data really shows that it kills mostly the elderly. What does that mean related to "righteous or wicked?"

Obviously, the fact that this kills primarily the elderly says that we seniors have had more time to sin. Or maybe the worst sin is not youthful lust, but neglecting to visit the grandchildren.

Nope, the sin is being boomers. Apparently that's pretty bad.

Yeah, we have been blamed for all the world’s woes ever since the oldest hit puberty. Our parents hated us and blamed us for evil rock music, the sexual revolution, hippies, drugs, feminists, increased divorce rates. Then someone wrote a song about how we didn’t start the fire, it been always burning, since the world’s been turning. But they continued to blame us for everything they started until they all died off. (Good riddance self proclaimed “greatest generation”) Now our children blame us for everything. We, single handedly used up all the coal, caused global warming, polluted the air and water, ruined the economy, and they never once flew on an airplane, used electricity or did anything to contribute to global warming or any of the rest of it. We are terrible people and our greatest sin was that there was always more of us. So, maybe this will fix some of that, make there be less of us.

From AOL:

"Playboy magazine is shuttering its print magazine.

The men’s magazine, launched at the end of 1953 by famed founder Hugh Hefner, said Wednesday that the economic disruptions from COVID-19, or coronavirus, were too much for its already strained print operations to bear."

:o

It's probalby going to continue online.

The Silent Generation just behind the Baby Boomers are at the greatest risk. That would include a number of the Brethren.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.
