A lot of people wasted tons of money on vitamins the last six months...
A place to love and accept the people who think about and live Mormonism on their own terms.

So the weekend is basically reversing a 3.5 year old policy and announcing some new temples and revelations?FiveFingerMnemonic wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 2:47 pm New temples and some renovations of old ones. That's it!
It's money laundering and how you funnel money to your friends that own business that will get the contracts.crazyhamster wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 2:48 pm All that building and renovating, the church must be somewhat still flush with cash. Either that, or tithing settle should be very interesting for folks this year.
Seriously.FiveFingerMnemonic wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 2:47 pm New temples and some renovations of old ones. That's it!
I feel like Ralphy in Christmas story decoding the message "Drink your ovaltine".
There are estimates they are worth upwards of 500 billion... they'll never hurt for cash.crazyhamster wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 2:48 pm All that building and renovating, the church must be somewhat still flush with cash. Either that, or tithing settle should be very interesting for folks this year.
Wow. You would think a lot of good in the world could be done with that much money!jfro18 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 2:50 pmThere are estimates they are worth upwards of 500 billion... they'll never hurt for cash.crazyhamster wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 2:48 pm All that building and renovating, the church must be somewhat still flush with cash. They always announce a few in countries that seem unlikely to project to members that are growing all over.
Members get excited when they hear the announcements. But, then they forget about most of them and don't realize how many have been announced years ago that there still has not even been a ground breaking for yet....let alone completed.FiveFingerMnemonic wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 2:57 pm Eventually they will run out of places to announce temples and renovations will be the only thing to announce.
Wow, what a let down. I thought on some level the Q15 wanted to make life easier and better for the average lay member. They really don't care. Whatever the reason for shorter church and all that, I doubt it had anything to do with the members' happiness and well being. The recent POX reversal; I thought on some level the Q15 cared that people were leaving and suffering and were responding to that. All they are doing is protecting their image to rest of the world... this conference convinced me that they care NOTHING about the members of the church; even less than I had supposed before. Pay and obey or get out.FiveFingerMnemonic wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 2:47 pm I feel like Ralphy in Christmas story decoding the message "Drink your ovaltine".
I think by Nelson’s last talk we had all quit caring how horrible it was, because his talk was pretty bad. Or maybe we had all just been bored to death. But it HAD to deserve some points subtracted. But all I can remember from it was my eyes getting stuck at the top when I rolled them while thinking not again. So, it was terribly forgettable because I don’t remember a word he said. So, -10 for sheer forgetability.
I think there is something to this because I didn’t hear “time is running out” and I was watching. But it’s all over my fb feedalas wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 6:06 pmI think by Nelson’s last talk we had all quit caring how horrible it was, because his talk was pretty bad.
