He's a pretty strong contender for sure. Although you could argue that he doesn't use his tears intelligently. Sometimes I feel like his use of tears falls under the annoying/awkward category. But we shall see.... Excellent award idea Corsair.

Also, Ulmite, I like the idea of most popular recycled talk award. That might be something we can give out prior to Fall General NOMfrence. But in the mean time, we can take predictions about which talk it will be.

^This!^ Although I think the YW Whiner who made me ill a few years ago has long since been released to the ranks of Female Non-Leader Emeritus. Females don't really have leadership roles - they're babysitting and brainwashing roles. First the Primary group, then YW, and then RS.

The award is for inelegant, not intelligent, use of tears. Perfect fit.

I just found out our local cable provider will NOT be broadcasting General Conference this year!!?? In the heart of the Canadian mormon corridor?? One must watch online or at your local meetinghouse.

All this reminds me that there will need to be an award for Best Persecution Complex

That will awarded to the camera operators in the Conference Center. They have to make the couple of brown faces in a sea of pastel dresses or dark suits look like they are more widely distributed. Alex Boye was in MoTab from 2006 - 2014 which always gave him prime screen time during choir songs since he stood out far more than just because of his fantastic voice. I have wondered if they have a pool of faces to pull from when the color coordination might be off.

with all the opposing that's been going on for the last few years, I bet they cringe now every time they have to do the sustaining vote, so how about we give the poor guy "the note has been noted" award, for whomever has to do it?

If we are giving an award for the most irritating "primary voice" for a woman, then we need to have gender parity. We get to hear from what, three or four women all conference, so, one out of four women get an award for irritating voice. Clearly this is not fair. We need to give an irritating voice award to one out of four men, just to provide gender parity. So, most condescending, first, second and third place. Best mansplaining for the man who tells women how to be women. Best loose false teeth whistle or click. Worst reading from a teleprompter. Most uses of "even" as in "our prophet, even Tommy". Most Mormon cliche's. And finally best euphemism for any sexual reference.

I don't have an award per se, but my favourite part in conference were the three 70s they always had before the last speaker of the last session. That was guaranteed nap time. Everyone but Sister M would fall asleep at some point during those three talks.

Oh yes!! Lets make a whole category for voice awards and balance it out a little.

That should even things out a little bit.

This just reminded me. One time we were traveling during a Conference weekend. I'm driving. In the car at the right hour, my husband tries to find a radio station that carries it. He fiddled around, found someone talking. Right away, I said, Nope, that is an evangelical preacher. But, no, he has to listen for about five minutes because he thinks it must be conference. I finally pointed out evangelical doctrine, and he went looking again and found another station with talk. In two seconds, I said, you got it. But he has to listen to be sure. I said, "I don't know who is talking, but it is *the conference voice*".

He got mad.

"What? What did I do? There is a VERY recognizable voice that all the men talk in. When it is a female voice, it sounds like she must be talking to children and you even call it "the primary voice. But when it is men, you can't even hear it?"

Wow, these are all so awesome!

With the new stupid alcohol laws just passed in Utah, I wonder there will be a talk on the WoW?
