These stories are the best, because believing members will read that and feel the spirit, yet they will not connect the dots that the very science that brought this family together completely disproves the Book of Mormon.

It's a great story and I wish the families all the best in their reunification. Here is one of my favorite unintended consequences of DNA testing:

We will find you: DNA search used to nab Golden State Killer can home in on about 60% of white Americans

This is combined with loads of children discovering that their father was not their actual, biological father.

My sister married a Navajo man. He and I went to high school together and he is as devout LDS as you can imagine. But he was confused by the endless DNA results showing Asiatic ancestry instead of Hebrew ancestry of Native Americans. I have read the apologetics and I suspect most of you have also. It's never a question of "here is clear evidence of Israelite DNA in Native Americans". It's always "these findings still leave room for Middle Eastern DNA because of <reasons>".
