Re: Mr. and Mrs. Græy's Stuff

Hey Red, thanks for following up. Long story short, my current employer re-upped their counter offer without me adding anything to the table. I essentially got a raise over their original counter which beat my new job offer, and a promotion to boot. All in, it would cost us ~$800/month to leave at t...

The spirit confirmed I should write this post and confirmed it is true. The spirit also confirmed I should eat lunch at Taco Bell. The bout of diarrhea received from eating lunch at Taco Bell confirmed the spirit is a liar.

Re: Ward Council is Closed (Minded)

I have another update for this. This past week we had another WC meeting. The agenda was emailed out beforehand and included a line that said something like the following... Continued discussion on strengthening personal testimony in light of challenging information Teach youth to learn from spirit,...

I love this idea. And pre-2019 this is the direction I was going with nearly every FHE I planned. But then... du du duhhhhhh The problem is that Family Home Evening has now been subtly replaced by material in the "Come Follow Me" manual. Now all FHE's are scripted as to their topic and content. DW a...

Re: Mr. and Mrs. Græy's Stuff

Another quick rant. DW and I are still debating a move to another state. The new job offer is a small net-loss in terms of salary, and now my current job has countered that, increasing the loss we'd take if we go. That said, it is her home state, and she is not 100% happy where we are. Part of the r...

Yes, things have gotten better, we aren't having arguments like we did when this all first hit the fan. We still disagree on many things, and she is still deeply upset and afraid about how this will affect pretty much all our relationships with family and friends. I would venture to say that our re...

At it's root, the LDS church does not trust the spiritual experiences of others.
-20 for completely invalidating any spiritual path it experience that doesn't match his own.

Also, the last half of that talk was the worst.

Best talk of conference so far for Sister Eubanks. There have been 14 quotes of Jesus' words this conference. She has 8 of them. 57% of the direct words of Jesus come from her talk. Awesome!
Well done Eubanks

Maybe I don't understand the word nepotism, but there sure does seem to be a lot of nepotism.

Thank you, everyone. Still working out the job decisions. Time to make a final call is growing short. That kind of dissonance combined with church dissonance, combined with heath issues is a recipe for heightened emotions. In fact I have had some work/church/health related issues recently also. A co...

Re: THEY MUST APOLOGIZE!

Sorry for multiple subsequent posts... but I just went back to review RMN's talk about the LGBT policy back in 2016... lds.org [W]e (the Q15) wrestled at length to understand the Lord’s will in this matter. Ever mindful of God’s plan of salvation and of his hope for eternal life for each of his chil...

Re: THEY MUST APOLOGIZE!

The very positive policies announced this morning should help affected families. In addition, our members’ efforts to show more understanding, compassion and love should increase respect and understanding among all people of goodwill. So... what. God didn't care about these families four years ago?...

Re: THEY MUST APOLOGIZE!

You can't just mess with people's lives like that, call it revelation, and then shrug it off. People died. How do you apologize without admitting you have no actual revelation from God? They're screwed on that front and are hoping members will just blindly accept and not think about it. I'd say the...

Re: Mr. and Mrs. Græy's Stuff

Part 2. The job. The out-of-state job interview went well. They made me an offer, and while it is a slight raise in base salary, due to higher taxes and medical deductibles, it is likely that I'd be losing some money each month on the deal. It is also a MUCH smaller company than I've ever worked for...

Re: Mr. and Mrs. Græy's Stuff

Its been a crazy few weeks and I need a place to let some of it out for a bit. I had a relatively minor out-patient surgery mid-last week, that in an of itself isn't too much to worry about, but it happened in the middle of an otherwise stressful work week. In addition to that, I mentioned in anothe...

Spot on.

He didn't get in trouble for doing what he did. He got in trouble for doing it without asking for Joseph's OK (revelation) on who he should do it with first.

I was going to note this as well. Concealed carry permit or not, guns in the building are a policy no-no.
