Re: Praise to the Man! (Cap'n Salty)
For those of you who frequent other sites where NOMsters also hang out, it might be a good idea to mention that we're back online with a good forecast for improved stability.

Re: Praise to the Man! (Cap'n Salty)
We are now on a different platform, which should be much more stable than where we were previously.
AI Nelson
I didn't see much of conference, but I did catch Nelson's temple-announcing talk. A couple of conspicuous things:
1- Multiple cuts, like it took him a lot of takes to get the talk on tape.
2- His appearance definitely seemed heavily altered by AI. Anybody else feel this way?

Praise to the Man! (Cap'n Salty)
We now have a stable home, thanks to our beloved Tech Lord. Please join me in a round of applause. https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fmedia.tenor.com%2FnYsOSNs2mtIAAAAC%2Fclap-applause.gif&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=bfb0a4ec65ce65e7bea405e71546b9da0f4e28effb294c0483afac95852e99ec&ipo ...

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that they will still be happy to accept tithes and offerings from transgender members.

Re: Russell's Death Spiral
My attitude has always been that I will remain a member of the church until they kick me out, but this is the first time I'm feeling some motivation to resign. I think it was when I heard Laura Lee Hall, former temple architect, bishop and stake president talk about how she felt welcome and loved in ...

Re: Sacred Restrooms
Hagoth, tell your children to hang in there. I think they have no problem with the church making it clear how biggoted they are. It removes from them any uncertainty about whether either of my kids would even entertain the possibility of returning someday. Our family has been essentially ...

Re: LDS Guesstimates
How many planets will it take to provide all the matter needed to resurrect everyone who lived on Earth? How about the animals? Insects? Bacteria? And the space to house them on the paradisiacal earth. I was taught that every blade of grass has a spirit and will be resurrected. Look at a field of ...

Re: LDS Guesstimates
I’ve heard a number of funny apologetics in this over the years. One was that there are different races of people because they came from different heavenly mothers. White folks came from one mother, Hispanics from another, Japanese from another, middle eastern from another….whatever allows them to m ...

Sacred Restrooms
I was discussing the new transgender bathroom policy with my son. He said, "why do they have a specific bathroom policy for transgender members but not for registered sex offenders?" Whoa. I love moments of clarity. I think this one may finally push Mrs. Hagoth over the edge. It is difficult enough ...

Re: Jawdropping dishonesty!
My understanding was that the church around 1985 was still not particularly wealthy, but the seeds were being planted. So these statements would have been less dishonest back then. But to use the same statement after the fruit has blossomed 1,000 fold is ridiculous. My numbers could be off... Good ...

I guess that both Mormons and Evangelicals will support the Project 2025 plan to destroy America... And then, once the "you will never have to vote again" promise is fulfilled, Evangelicals will loose their inquisition on Mormons and other heretics. "Aw, c'mon guys, I thought we were BFFs!"

It seems like, with an entire world of billions and billions of people to choose from, Jesus shouldn't have so much trouble finding 15 guys who are decent, honest, loving human beings. I would be happy to introduce him to a few people.

Re: I may be on the radar, but it's okay cause I'm now good at saying No
That was the perfect way to respond. Good for you. Isn't it wonderful to realize the only power they have is their assumption that you believe they have power over you? Once that assumption loses traction the assumed power vanishes.

Re: Jawdropping dishonesty!
What a load of crap. It’s written like they’re trying to explain commercial business ownership to a kid in the sunbeam class. Which makes perfect sense. The church teaches that we should be like little children and its methods excel in thought stopping methods. Here's a faithful way to look at this. ...
