Trump follows Joseph Smith playbook.

Post by deacon blues »

1. Military Parades-trump
Nauvoo Legion drills, etc. Joseph Smith
2. Wives & mistresses- trump
Polygamy- Joseph Smith.
3. Get rid of dissent- trump
Chase Cowdery, Whitmer and other dissenters out of Far West- Joseph Smith

P.S. I almost posted this under Doctrine, because I believe Joseph Smith felt he was mandated by God to do these things.
God is Love. God is Truth. The greatest problem with organized religion is that the organization becomes god, rather than a means of serving God.

There is definitely a pattern. I suspect it could also apply to autocratic leaders of many other high-demand organizations.

I attended festivities with a fellow ex-mo. Highly enjoyed the huge turnout where we are. Quite surprising to see such a large group in what I thought was conservative area.

Felt sorry for Army guys having to put on that parade.
We're going to honor you by making you work - I suppose parallels poor local leaders in church too. Squeaky tanks slowly driving down rainy street by empty bleachers, poor things. Could have celebrated with a gift - like taking care of veterans or something :(

Imaginary "blessings", bad gifts, there's another parallel. False praise, bad show.
