US Military used for ICE

Post by Arcturus »

If US military deploys within the US, into major US cities, as the recent Trump/Hegseth/military meeting suggests could happen, though no doubt would be challenged in the courts. Let's say this happens. What chances do you peg that this internal deployment would also be used for ICE mass deportation purposes? And what would that outcome look like from a civil society perspective?

It is illegal to deploy troops against citizens, but that has not stopped Trump yet. See, all the officers of all military branches swear to uphold the constitution not be loyal to commander in chief and they do not have to obey an illegal order or violate the constitution because the president says so. So, until Trump finds a general willing to violate the constitution, which task should take three weeks or less, he cannot deploy troops against citizens. The National guard is different and can be deployed under certain circumstances, which Trump declared an emergency to do legally. So, until that officer shows up willing to throw the Constitutionunder the bus, won’t happen.

So, when it does, of course troops will become ice officers.
