What's going on with Marjorie Taylor-Greene?

Post by deacon blues »

I just watched an interview with Marjorie Taylor-Greene where she apologized for her past behavior: MTG: ...I think that's fair criticism and I would like to apologize for taking part in the toxic politics, it's very bad for our country, it's been something I've thought a lot about and I'm committed to put down the knives in politics. I really just want to see people be kind to one another, and we need to figure out a new path forward....As Americans we have far more in common than we have differences, and we need to learn to respect each other with our disagreements."
My thoughts:
This from a woman who a few years ago was calling for a national divorce as late as September 2025, after the Charlie Kirk murder.
Will she continue on this new path. Can other extremists right or left make similar decisions?
God is Love. God is Truth. The greatest problem with organized religion is that the organization becomes god, rather than a means of serving God.

I am not sure if the woman is capable of rational thought. But maybe her election handlers are telling her to cut herself loose from tRump. And telling her exactly what to say and how to act. Either that of Charlie Kirk’s death really triggered a come to Jesus….no, not that Jesus, the other one that preached love thy neighbor, not deport the stranger in your mist. People just do not go from Jewish space lasers controlling the weather and causing wild fires to, gee, I’m sorry I preached hate. Her about face is just too extreme to be believable. Maybe she got a common sense injection. Or she asked for boob enlargement and instead of inserting boob inserts, the doc accidentally inserted brains.

MTG is representing Georgia. Georgia has a history of being a swing state. It is close to evenly divided, so it goes back and forth.

My initial reaction is that the state is likely getting some buyer's remorse for their candidate choices lately. The economy of the state is slowing. They just had one of the largest investments in the state get significantly delayed if not completely trashed by the illegal raid on the Hyundai plant where they deported hundreds of legal visitors trying to help grow the economy in the state. I'm sure there are a lot of other local issues as well.

My guess is that either MTG or someone in charge of that operation is seeing the writing on the wall that supporting the current president is not going to end well for them. If they kept up their support for the current president, they will likely be out of the job in a year. Or they can change course and fight for what will stop the sinking state economy and hopefully keep their job. It all comes down to career survival.

At the end of the day, people tend to vote based on what they see will affect their wallet.
