There are any number of things that people place their value in. None of them are necessarily right or wrong or one better than the other.

In church I see a lot of people that put value in trust, strength, toughness, loyalty, discipline, and leadership. Nothing wrong with that list but the challenge becomes when people with those ideals view other people that hold different values such as fairness, empathy, creativity, and authenticity as threats.

Gilbert strikes me as being firmly in that camp. They feel that others' sense of empathy eats away at their sense of toughness and discipline. Calls for fairness might challenge their loyalties and leadership. Creativity goes against an order they're trying to establish.

He's only 55 years old, so his mindset will dominate the church for the next few generations.

Authority for authority's sake and having to wear loyalties on your sleeve aren't things I associate with Jesus.

This really feels like the church slamming the door in the faces of people that wanted to see the "ongoing restoration" be more charitable and less authoritarian.

Clark is just another home grown business man with ties to upper management when he hitched his wagon to Clayton Christensen in Boston. He adapted his disruptive innovation work and then became tasked with gutting the Deseret News in the name of digital transformation. After that assignment he pivoted to the education path and aptly began disrupting the lives of the nuanced, the pretending, and the LGBTQ supporting professors. Possibly catching the eye of Bednar and Oaks leading to this latest appointment as prophet sear and gaslighter.

I heard Rasband gifted him a life time membership to the Deseret Gym and promptly set a reoccurring weekly sauna one on one called apostolic sauna seminars, otherwise known as ASS time with Rasbandy on his calendar!
