This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.
Sister Oscarson is conducting and she welcomed sisters of other faiths. I've never heard them do that before. TSM is a no show. Not surprised. Eyring and Uchtdorf are there. Oh Gods please let it be Uchtdorf that speaks to us and not Eyring.

I'm half listening while Sister M and DD are watching in the living room, while watching some b-ball. One thing I don't get is this insistence that women are SPECIAL disciples of Jesus, but then they never say WHY. Am I missing something?
"And I don't need you...or, your homespun philosophies."
"And when you try to break my spirit, it won't work, because there's nothing left to break."

She should be talking about how to empower the young women in today's world?
Or how to help them build a strong individualized self esteem?
Or (god forbid) how to develop their sexuality?
I don't think anything said tonight was ever meant to empower or build self esteem. We heard more than one example of women who were literally working themselves to death for the church. That was set up as an ideal.
Work to death for the church. That is the only way you will be happy. That is what God and Jesus want for you.
There are thousands of women listening to this who are really struggling, and they will leave feeling so guilty for feeling bad about their struggles. It's like this sick cycle. The church cripples you and then tells you only it can heal you. And when you crawl to them looking to help they slam you down again.
Well I guess my seer stone is broken. The two prayers were as white as you can be. Also no blatant women of the world hate.
